Hotel is called "old fashion" and in fact it is so. Receptionits young and very kind persons indeed, however the building might be good in spring or summer time, but not in Fall or Winter. Fixtures are very bed winds are blowimg in. Heather i composed by an air conditionig device, not working at all and a an additional elecric stove located close to the bed because of the short cable. Bathroom is a sort of freezer. Breakfast if it is not taken into account the so called "sweet breakfast" is bsrely acceptable. Valet parking with 20 minutes delay on schedule. Such a bad experience never again.

We stayed 4 nights. The staff was lovely , friendly and helpful. Arezzo has a beautiful compavt, interesting old city with MANY beautiful chirches and museums and they are all a short walk from Hotel Portici. You are also a short walk from the train station. It is as advertised meant to be an old fashioned spot and it is but the bathroom has everything modern and works perfectly. We recommend this place to anyone who is NOT looking for a spiffy modern cubic impersonal spot!

This hotel requires using a key for the medieval door that was very difficult to open. Then you enter a dark isolated hallway and go up an elevator. There’s a door marked with the name of the hotel. No one was there at 1:30pm. Someone did go in with a key at about 1:50pm, completely ignored me until I called out to him. He was the front desk guy! That door also requires a key that looks like a long tool. Then there’s the room key that requires patience, at least 2 hands to turn, jiggle, and open. The room was lovely and the bathroom was clean, just very tiny. I am 5ft, 115lbs and was bumping into the sink while squeezing in and out of the shower. If you’re good with tools and doors that, while charming to look at, are a pain to navigate, then go for it. I was there for one night to see the frescoes and it was an easy 5min. walk from the train and an easy walk to all the main sites.

Small hotel on the 4th floor of a centrally located, old, office building. Reached by an old elevator. Location is great. Breakfast is simple and fine. The staff is nice and friendly. However, it's far from a 4 star hotel. It's old, and pretty dark. The front desk is staffed till 9 pm. They Gove you 3 keys to open the building, the 4th floor, and your room. There's no lobby to the building. The paint is falling from the wall on the way to the elevator. The fruits left in our room are a nice gesture, but we're soft and borderline rotten. The hotel street sign outside is of 4 stars, but it's more of like 2. I'll be generous and give them 3 because of the nice staff. So, for a 4 star expectation, the are unacceptable. If the expectation is 2 star, they are good.

Two star at best. Unkempt entry and four story walk up to the hotel. Didn’t feel safe in stairwell nor the elevator. Rooms very sp****. Neither my husband or I were able to fit in the shower stall ( we are tall but not large people). Extremely loud with the activity on the street. The breakfast was inedible and not safely presented ( nothing cooled/ on ice) Coffee was good. Would not recommend.

The hotel is old and dark. We arrive and were surprised because is in the 4th floor with just a small and dirty elevator. What was supposed to be a boutique hotel is just an old hotel in need of a lot of work. The room was big but that is the only good thing to say. The floor on the room moved as we walked! It was so bad that we refused to stay and looked for other hotel. The room was prepayed (for a week) and in spite of our request for return some of the payment they slimply refused. Ok it was their right but we did not sleep there a single nigth! The location is very central but thats all.

We were aware that the hotel was not on street level but there wasn't any information telling us that it was up the equivalent of 5 stories. We counted the steps and there were 99. The hallway entry off the street was poorly lit and not at all clean. The lights in the stairway only come on by motion and immediately shut off if you stop moving. They turn back on when you move again but you are now moving, on the stairs, in the dark. The elevator service was iffy at best. The shower enclosure was one of the worst we have experienced in our many overseas travels. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels and here is no way this is a 4 star hotel. The one star wand must have been dropped and bounced.
