Glebe Barn - Hostel

Loved our visit to Eigg! A large group of us booked Glebe Barn exclusively. Location wise it’s ideal - only a mile or so from the pier, shop & cafe and An Sgurr walkable from the front door. Beds were comfy, the hostel is tidy & well kept. Tamsin quick on the emails as we were planning the trip, and over our stay! Would recommend 👍

What a great location, mid island so perfect for everything. Made to feel so welcome, met off ferry and bags transported. Glebe Barn has everything you need to make your stay brilliant. Comfortable, clean, a well appointed kitchen, comfy sitting area and sun room off it. Plentiful showers and toilets. One couple of our group stayed in the self-contained annexe and were delighted with it, lovely, clean and everything you need for an extremely enjoyable stay. The views are amazing. What a great place on a beautiful peaceful island.

Fantastic place to stay. We block-booked the whole hostel for our group and had a magical week on the island (magic seems to come easily on Eigg). The bedrooms were comfy, plenty of bathrooms/showers, and a well equipped kitchen. The huge lounge/dining room and sunroom meant there was space to hang out, and we managed to fit 12 bikes (hired from Eigg Adventures at the pier - also recommended) in the bike store. The hostel is handy for both ends of the island, and there's gentle downhill access to the shore. Tamsin was super welcoming, and ran all our luggage up and down to the ferry. Excellent place to host a group and would definitely come back again with the family, a group or solo.

This is our second stay at this hostel. It's in a stunning location over looking the harbor. The facilities are great, clean and it's warm. We met lots of lovely people who were staying too, on the evening we had the log burner going. Its a really wonderful place.

We (family of three) stayed in this hostel in August 2022. It was just wonderfull and amazing. It has stunning views on the sea and other parts of the island. Facilities were very good: a large well equipped kitchen, toilets and shower neat and very clean. A nice breakfast/dining area. A large living room with plenty of books and games. The hostel is situated about 2 miles from the large pier. If you don't mind a little hike, you can walk to it. You can go by taxi as well. Charlie will take you there giving you a lot of information about Eigg. We've visited Laig Bay, the Singing Sands, the church ruins of Kildonnan and were fishing on the old pier. Had some fresh fish for dinner. The Isle of Eigg is a little treasure and so is this hostel! I would recommend this for your stay. @ Tamsin: you run a beautiful hostel. Thank you for your hospitality. We're hoping to get back here.

I over all had a great time in eigg and at the barn the people are very welcoming and caring. With the views all around from the hostel I will most definitely go back agin. Had a great time with the group of 15 who went.

Stayed at the Glebe Barn with a group of 15. The hostel was a perfect base for exploring the island, around a 20 minute walk from the Eigg Pier and ideally situated near the top of the hill for accessing either side of the island. Rooms are simple and well kitted out for groups or individuals travelling. Great kitchen with plenty facilities for cooking and storing food. Tamsin was a great host, offering a bag collection and pick up from the pier on Eigg and checked in on us regularly to make sure we were all okay. The walk to and from the hostel is really lovely and a nice way to land on the island.

Great amenities and very close to many highly recommend places to visit in Eigg Plenty of space and brilliant views from the hostel and the rooms especially out towards the coast of Eigg. Eigg is also very beautiful island with spectacular wildlife such as eagles and otters!

I had an amazing week here. An excellent hostel on a beautiful island. It's a lovely building with plenty of space, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen and spectacular views. Tamsin and Charlie were very welcoming and helpful. Very good for large groups. Hopefully come back one day!
