An old hotel, with equally old facilities and staff. It's located on a small hill, quite inconvenient to get to without a car. The service was pretty good, though. It was my first time encountering a hotel that requires you to take off your shoes at the entrance and only wear their slippers or go barefoot.

We arrived quite late and were starving. However, the hotel restaurant was closed. After looking for anything we could buy for our quick dinner, the manager gave us a whole piece of cooked corn and a pack of edamame for free! Even the complimentary food could not make us feel full, it was so touching. Our room was big and furnished sufficiently. The toilet might be a bit small for the long-leg ones. The onsen facilities were gorgeous and could satisfy different visitors' needs. I visited almost every night during the 4-night stay. I was impressed with the big game rooms with table-tennis equipment, machine games and board games for different ages. The snacks sold were so cheap and with varieties which I bought a lot for just 1000 yens!

Retro atmosphere. Very satisfied. The cleanliness was good, and the hot spring was incredibly relaxing. I was thoroughly impressed and would love to visit again.

This onsen, nestled on a hill overlooking Asahikawa, has a unique charm, blending the feel of an old-fashioned public bathhouse with a touch of intriguing quirkiness. While the facilities are a bit dated, they aren't inconvenient or unpleasant in any way. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and it wasn't overly crowded. It felt like a wonderful bathhouse cherished by locals.

The independent hot spring massage at the inn was great, and the kids loved it. However, the kettle in the room was rusty, indicating poor hygiene and upkeep. The room heating was insufficient, and breakfast was just average.

This is a traditional, family-run inn that truly excels in hospitality and personal charm. I booked a room with a private bath; it was exceptionally spacious at nearly 40 square meters, and we had the entire floor to ourselves. Our private bath was conveniently located directly on the rooftop, situated at the highest point of the small hill, offering an amazing soaking experience. The family operates their own restaurant, and both breakfast and dinner were delightful. This was our children's favorite hotel of the entire trip, providing fantastic value for money. They even have a nostalgic 90s-era arcade! It's definitely a top choice for travelers on a self-drive trip. The owner and staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and kind. A huge thank you once again for their wonderful hospitality!
