Just what we needed after the walk up from Bakewell. Good honest food, great beer and very friendly service, would highly recommend if you’re in the area. Bar staff also made the effort to give our dogs water. Don’t take any notice of the bad reviews, I’m planning when I can visit again and have a pie!

A warm welcome from attentive staff, room very clean and well equipped, beautiful view from the bay window area which had two easy chairs. My friend and I had a twin room, quite spacious, comfortable beds, liked the tray left outside the door for our dirty walking boots! A nice touch. Generous cooked breakfast with good choices, and hearty and generous helpings for the evening meal. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really made us feel special. Loved the informal, warm feel of the hotel and the interesting artwork and photographs around the rooms. Especially the paintings in the stairway and hall. We booked to return in October for an autumn walking break. Commendation in itself!

Popped in before catching the bus home which handily is located directly outside 👍 Went in main hotel and all very relaxed and welcoming and no need to worry about dirty boots as wooden floor 🤩 Staff excellent and very friendly. Defo recommend for a pit stop

This place is outstanding. Great room, fantastic food and even better service. Located right next to a brilliant 8 and a half mile trail with great views. 10/10 would recommend will definitely be coming back.

What great place to stay! We have just got back from a short break at the hotel. Its great. If you're after a lovely place to stay that is clean, tidy, great food, great service, beautiful location and a warm welcome from all the staff... this is the place to stay. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and everything was just great. Food in the hotel was without a doubt the nicest we had on our trip.... especially the monsal pie.... and sausages for our 4 legged friend. We will stay again

A most enjoyable stay overlooking the fantastic countryside. The views from our seating area in room 2 was fabulous. The staff are fantastic and a big shout out to front of house, receptionist, cook and all round good egg ROMIA I hope I got that right. Try thr Mondal pie, that'll fill a hole. All round the room was great, facilities good. Nice and clean. Recommended.

What a lovely stay we’ve just had at the Monsal Head Hotel. The room was immaculate, with a perfect view over the valley, all the staff really friendly, the food was delicious and not to mention a special treat for our doggos at breakfast! Thank you all, we will definitely stay again.

Great customer service and views. The food was amazing and fresh. The rooms were clean and warm. Overall really good especially customer service.You get a great view from just across the parking lot. It’s truly breathtaking and is at the top of the peak

Visited with friends to have an evening pub meal and chose the Monsal Head Hotel mainly for the location, having not been inside for many years. Obviously the location is very special (and a gorgeous sunset helped) but the welcome we received inside and the food, as well as the atmosphere, made the whole thing much more special than we expected. The "Monsal Pie", one of several "Monsal" dishes on the menu, turns out to be steak and ale topped with fabulous puff pastry. Very filling and quite delicious and helped down by a half of the local beer. What's not to like? We will be back sooner rather than later. Keep up the good work.
