Hotels near Aso Volcano Museum, Aso

I booked a stay that included breakfast. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, explaining everything thoroughly when I had questions, which made my stay very smooth. The bedding was super cozy and plush. After a relaxing hot spring bath, I enjoyed a warm cup of tea using the in-room tea bags and kettle, then had a wonderful night's sleep in the comfortable futon. Breakfast was a delicious Japanese-style home-cooked meal. They even knocked on my door to let me know when breakfast was ready. The lounge facilities, including the smoking room and manga collection on the second floor, were also a great bonus.

Very well kept and clean onsen ryokan with two private onsens that can be booked, and gender separated large onsens. Food and service was also very good. Well appointed and large rooms with all amenities required including shower and toilet.

Very much enjoyed the hospitality. The staff is super friendly and the food served is excellent. Highly recommended.

The location is a bit out of the way. From JR Aso Station, you can take a bus and get off at Uchimaki Station (about 20 minutes) and then walk for five minutes to get there. The surrounding environment of the hotel is very quiet, surrounded by countryside, the interior decoration is exquisite, and the rooms are very comfortable. There is a small courtyard landscape in the middle, which is very suitable for sitting on a chair and dazing. There is a family hot spring available for use. The hotel's meals are mostly Kumamoto's local cuisine, which is very suitable to my taste. The service attitude is very good. There is only one Nepali guy who can speak English, but the service attitude is really warm and impressive. All in all highly recommended!

A boutique traditional guest house. Stayed in a cottage with private onsen. Lovely open public onsen and an outdoor area for drinks after dinner. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious!

The room was clean and fully furnished, and the location was convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Aso Station. However, the hotel hadn't provided any information about the self-check-in arrangements (such as the room number and door lock code) the day before my arrival. The Trip.com receipt only provided the hotel's contact number, and when I called, only a Japanese-speaking operator answered, so I couldn't get the self-check-in information due to the language barrier. I later obtained the hotel's email address from Trip.com's support service, but the hotel didn't respond quickly. Finally, I had the receptionist from the hotel where I stayed the previous night call the Aso Hotel to get the necessary information.
