Howard Johnson by Wyndham Athens

Really pleasant and cheap stay, would recommend for people passing through town. Room was a great size. Room was clean. Breakfast had a decent choice and enough seating. Ample parking and the reception staff were very welcoming. Pool was closed (end of March). Felt safe and was quiet.

The front desk hotel clerk should be a bit more pleasant . The hotel room needs to be renovated . The tub is all scratched up and all. The air conditioning unit is a bit loud. I would suggest for the owner to allow for late check out even with a fee , would be acceptable or reasonable for customers. We were told too by the front desk hotel clerk that late checkout won’t be considered, except for a 30 minute extension because the housekeeping cleaning crew were less staffed and that a Baseball team are expected to check in. It didn’t seem like there were really a lot of occupants in the hotel, based on what we’ve seen at parked cars at the parking lot. I supposed , considering the hotel price rate we paid, it would be as expected .

The room didn't feel clean. The patio door was unlocked when we arrived (first floor room). The TV didn't work in our room. The tissues were out of stock in our bathroom. Overall, the place would've been worth it for about $75 per night and we paid almost double that.

I never was provided a room. My flight was delayed. I called the hotel to let them know a they said don’t worry we have front desk 25/7. When I arrived there was nobody at front and door was locked. I had to drive to a different hotel and get myself booked

I did online checking but it still took 10 minutes or more at the front desk and I had to pee sooooo bad and she said the bathroom in the office wasn’t working

There was a clump of the previous guests hair on the toilet seat, a large hole in tge wall in the bathroom
