Great location. Generally quiet. Zero city noisy. Very easy convenient access to the marina and the room was tidy. Bed was reasonably comfy and you get wifi. The not so great points: - TV can't cast, which I feel is very old by today's standards - The vanity tap was missing a filter and the pressure was very high so when you open it, water goes everywhere - The wall and ceiling have zero sound damping so other guest activites are quite obvious - The worst part of it all was the shower, pink and black mold all around the perimeter of the shower base. If I knew I could add photos to this review, I would but it was a bit scary

海灣百米之遙,綠樹環繞,房間寬敞整潔,我入住時候是冬天,但電暖風吹得房間很温暖。

Having read other reviews we consider ourselves fortunate. I am able to say that the suite that we stayed in was newly refurbished and very nice, I think the room photo displayed was from our room, but sorry we didn't take any photos as this was not a pleasure trip. This motel has a great location near to the marina. It was quiet except for the multitude of birds that live in the trees that surround the motel. The manager was friendly and helpful. Bathroom and lounge were pleasantly furbished, although the shower was a little cramped, and the only mirror was in the bathroom/toilet. Comfortable new king bed as well. Kitchen facilities were good but a few more pots and pans would be welcome if you seriously want to cook. Window fittings need replacement to increase security, and the ranch slider door lock was a bit loose. But all in all we enjoyed our stay.

Half Moon Bay Marina Motel is a pleasant experience exceeding our expectations. We and our dog were welcomed with open arms. The rooms are spacious, including kitchen, tidy and well maintained. Good price for our 4 day stay - we will return whenever we are in Auckland. Thank you for making our short holiday that little more relaxed. Especially being able to stroll a short distance to the Marina Fresh Choice for fresh espresso and pastries.

Stayed with family of 4. Friendly, helpful staff. Very neat, tidy and clean room. Room obviously recently refurbished but was spot on. Easy 5 minute walk to fantastic food (day and night) and also Waiheke Island ferry. Great value for money in prime spot. Read some reviews that were horrible but that was not our experience. Would happily stay again and no hesitation recommending to others.

We booked accommodation for Tournament week, we had one room removed due it being used for emergency housing, the premise were dirty and rooms were damaged. The manager suggested we sort alternative accommodation for the group, for security and safety reasons . We cancelled two week out of tournament and the Motel is now refusing to refund our 50% deposit. Communication has been awful. we do not recommend anyone staying here

Do not stay here. They have spare keys to get in your room and steal your valuables. Beware! Police are now involved after $3,000 of stuff was stolen from our locked room last night. Owner knows about it and refuses to do anything!!

Theft from our room! Despite our doors being securely locked our room was entered at night while out for 4 hours at a family birthday party.Approx $4K worth of precious jewellery, perfume and woman’s prescription sunglasses were stolen. These were hidden in a handbag stored in the ironing board/coat hanger cupboard so not exposed to an opportunistic theft. The CVTT system advertised on our room back door was inadequate and only covered the reception area apparently.Management insisted this was a first but google reviews show that there was another incident on the same night and this couple would have checked out and supposedly reported their theft before we spoke to the manager around 12.00pm.Also google reviews show 2 similar incidents a year ago. This site obviously has security issues and travellers should be aware.

Despite our room being securely locked it was entered on Saturday night and approx $3K worth of jewellery, perfume and prescription woman’s sunglasses were stolen. These were stored in a handbag and placed in the ironing board/coat hanger cupboard away from general view so not susceptible to an opportunistic crime.Obviously someone with access to a key or the skill to enter the room without a key was the perpetrator. The CCTV advertised on our room back door was inadequate and only covered the reception area we were told,so was of no use in solving the crime. The manager insisted this was a first, yet google reviews show another theft incident on the same night and two other incidents a year ago.

This was horrific on every level. The pictures that were on *********** were not what we walked in to. We arrived in the dark and walked into a dirty filthy room that didn’t look like it had been cleaned and bedding was feral. Looked like a room that had experienced some traumatic events, patched up holes in walls and chips and marks out of kitchen and furniture. It was emergency accommodation which we had no idea until we arrived. $217/room. We walked in and looked around and left. Drove to the cbd and booked somewhere else at 8:30pm at night, it was that bad.

This place should be struck off if it could be.... Unfortunately I was desperate as my other accommodation was not available. They charged me $220 for a cess pit. I approached them about the broken falling down curtains, dirty bathroom (hair all over the bathroom floor and vomit on the wall) and general lack of cleanliness. They did fix the broken curtain rail, however the cleaning was not rectified. See attached photos. The manager was not the person who checked me in and I saw her the following day and she said I should have told her about the problems. I thought she was the neighbour as she lived in the next unit, the office was closed upon my return after my initial complaint. The area I had to walk through to get there was like a council rubbish tip, stench coming from the bins, broken machinery, empty paint tins and trays and cigarette butts and smoke all over the place. The sad thing is, there is a housing shortage in New Zealand for people who need emergency accommodation. I found out later that this motel is used for social housing for emergency accommodation. Since COVID a lot of NZ motels have turned to this lucrative alternative were they are paid a premium by the government to house people in need. They are doing so well they obviously have no care at all about the odd person who may need accommodation and is actually paying for it themselves. After many discussions and phone calls I was offered no discount. They even said they could offer me a discount but their credit card machine didn't offer that facility once payment had gone through! Considering I had a filthy dirty place they didn't feel I was owed a discount. The kids were all running around and having lots of fun but in a dangerous, dirty environment. It's noisy, filthy, unkept and completely NOT A MOTEL. I really advise not to stay here, there should be a law against it.

Four girls booked a two-bedroom hotel for three nights and were given a key but refused to let us keep the key. It was so dirty! The other room was slightly better, the white towels were gray, and the rags used to clean the cups were not used. The rags were thrown into the trash can, the room was not cleaned well, and there were some rotten garbage left by other people on the coffee table. I couldn't live any longer. I wanted to add another dollar but refused to pay. I was really ashamed of myself for such a good location.
