Homewood Suites by Hilton Augusta Gordon Highway

Great rooms and the staff are excellent. The kitchen, bathroom and living room had a great layout. Convenient location. Loved the happy hour wednesdays. Would definitely recommend this hotel for long term or short term stays. Thanks to all the staff at the Homewood Suites Augusta!

Tish & JD are like family members, that’s how they made me feel! Their hospitality & that of all the staff I encountered in general from the cleaning staff to janitors have all been exceptional. Coupled with the full kitchen & workspace set up, I literally felt at home away from home!

We were greeted with friendly front door staff evertime we entered the hotel. The front reception/sitting area is rather large and the fire place was on making for a warm reception on this chilly evening. The room itself is very nice, the kitchen has two burners, a microwave, a full fridge and dishes for a family of four as well as pots and pan. There is a desk area with space to spread out and a lamp. The sofa is a hotel sofa, so stiff and not too comfy but clean. The large TV is in between the sofa and bed so it could be seen from either but would need to be turned. A turntable for the TV would be a nice addition. The shower was clean with glass sliding doors and shower gel/conditioner and shampoo available. The water was very hot! It was a really nice shower. The bed was comfortable, pillows are a tad too soft for me, but there are two so you can pile them up. The room AC is adjustable and definitely heated and cooled well. The room was vacuumed and appeared clean, but was dusty behind the TV (we had to pull it out as the cable was misbehaving) and the bottom of the lamps/baseboards are dusty. The free breakfast was nice! Sometimes the hotel breaksfasts are meager. This was not. First day was biscuits, gravy, sausage, pre made omelets (slightly rubbery), oatmeal with fruit, brown sugar and nuts, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, OJ, coffee, milk and tea. Second day was grits instead of oatmeal and potatoes instead of biscuits. The ladies in the breakfast area are soo sweet. One of them told me today that they take care of their customers and this is the best Homewood suites, she just wishes she could stay here :). apparently you can't stay if you work here. They were So kind and attentive. If we ever ran into staff they smiled and were kind. My husband said to me "they must have good management to have staff who appear happy". In the eating area: The seats were clean, available and no crumbs etc on the tables. Outside the parking lot is well lit, but some of the parking lot is a dirt lot which was not as nice. Overall I am very grateful to have found this hotel. GREAT stay. It was too cold to even think about the hotel pool...so I don't know and did not visit the gym. I did notice that there were construction workers staying here, and using the grill out back two evenings we were here. I thought that was great that they had that as an option. It says something that people are staying here for long term stays. I saw a travel nurse here as well. You can't go wrong staying here! I saw one of the negative reviews, she was NOT reviewing this hotel. She must have picked the wrong one to review by accident. This is a nice hotel!

Where do I start? When I arrived my room was dirty. The washing machines take quarters but the front desk NEVER HAS ANY. If you are here for longer than a weekend you will need to wash at another place. All of the outside doors are BROKEN and they make you come in through the side doors which is sketchy at night. The upkeep on the amenities is just horrible. Everything is BROKEN! and the pool is closed and filthy. The place is surrounded by dark wooded areas so at night it’s pitch black (and they expect you to walk around the building to get to the SIDE DOOR because they lock the front door at night. The breakfast is not that great, but it’s free. The staff are nice but management clearly doesn’t know how to manage and upkeep a facility! I’ll never stay here again.

This hotel is nice and roomy. Close to the base and downtown. Love that it’s 15 min away for so much. We have stayed at this hotel twice to visit my son.

I love this hotel. I stay here everytime I’m in Augusta. It’s my home away from home.

Very clean, comfortable beds, great breakfast with the fancy pancy plates and glasses, great service as everyone was extra nice..

We booked this hotel because it had some major features that were perfect for our little getaway. One, they had suites with lovely kitchenettes that include a cook top, full refrigerator, and a dishwasher. It made ensuring my Vegan husband had food on our trip as we’ve yet to stay at any Hilton property with vegan options for breakfast. The second reason I chose this location was because they had lovely photos of an outdoor pool. So, I packed my new bathing suit and SPF 100 with the expectation that we would be spending some quality time in the pool and soaking up some vitamin D. Upon arrival, we were given the choice of any floor in the building. I’m assuming they weren’t really busy. We were informed of breakfast times and that was it. Imagine my utter disappointment and extreme frustration to find out the next day that the pool was closed indefinitely. It was 108° F (42° C) and we couldn’t use the pool. There should have been a notice that the pool wasn’t open at the time of booking. I would have made a different choice, but I’m sure that is why it’s still being advertised as an amenity. Let’s talk about breakfast. The space was clean and provided ample space for sitting. The selection of food was sp****. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was meh and the bedding was scratchy. The pillows were blah. (Feather pillows are awful and unsupportive. I woke with a sore neck and welts on my face from the feathers.) So far, I’m not a happy Hilton customer. In the month of July, we’ve stayed at 2 different Hilton properties, in 2 states, and both have been subpar experiences.

My family visited for a week long basketball tournament. Monica and April provided great customer service and our housekeeper Towanna was great. They all made sure we received everything we needed. Thank you for a comfortable stay.
