Abbotsford Hotel

We booked on line with ***********, when we arrived we were told there was no kitchen as it was getting refurbished, they should have been upfront with this before booking  We also had our 9 year old granddaughter with us and due to the bye laws she was not allowed in the bar even with been accompanied with an adult. The problem was on Friday evening there was nowhere for us to sit with our drinks and after a lot of consultation we were eventually allowed to sit in the breakfast area. Not good enough

We visited yesterday for Easter lunch with family. The easter bunny was there as well as a magician doing tricks at the tables, he was amazing. Staff were all lovely and very attentive. Food was faultless not one of us could say anything against our choices. I dread set menus but there was plenty of choices so something to please everyone. Was a lovely relaxed afternoon a true family friendly establishment. First I have visited since the change of ownership and its certainly improved drastically. Can't wait to go back.

Just had another brilliant stay at The Abbotsford. They have the best staff from Tina herself to Mary, Frances, Whitney & Lucy . Our Room was amazing... warm & absolutely spotless . Thankyou everyone roll on our next stay see you soon 🥰

Check-in was after three, we informed the restaurant we'd be there somewhere between 3 and 5pm. The messages we received were brilliant in the language used rather than the usual functional communication. They were playful, yet informative. It raised a smile and set a wonderful feeling for arrival. On arrive we were met with a really helpful staff member, full of smiles and guided us to our room. The equestrian. On our way to the room there was this wonderful fragrant smell in the corridors, they were kind enough to let us know the name of the scent. The room was just about perfect, a huge bed, coffee machine, etc etc. The design of the room was again playful without being cheesy. Sleep was really good. The bar was good, a staff who interacted well with customers and the breakfast (included) was hearty and very tasty. The waiting staff was so polite and more attentive than we'd expect. Two minor points; staff had little knowledge of red wine. Maybe some wine tasting is needed! No we weren't asked by staff to say that. The last point; we asked for runny eggs they weren't. The bacon and sausages were delicious. Certainly, we'd stay again if in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a family lunch today on Valentine's Day and a lovely time was had by all. The food was flavourful and delicious, plenty of choices. Service was warm and friendly, nothing too much trouble. The happy atmosphere coming from the other diners gave the dining area such a comfortable vibe. Value for money, will definitely have a family lunch here again. Thank you.

Best service from all the staff and a great surprise from the cook food is amazing and the staff are so friendly amd easy to talk to definitely worth going

Absolutely stunning rooms. Staff was fantastic and went above and beyond. Food was absolutely fantastic and nice quality. Bar was fun and we enjoyed the entertainment nights there!! We were absolutely blown away!

Four of us stayed for two nights.We were in the equestrian room and the whisky room.Both were absolutely beautiful.The decor was tasteful and the en suite were stunning.Beds were so comfortable and the choice for breakfast was incredible and very high quality.We dined there both nights and all food experienced was fantastic.Staff were super welcoming and friendly and the bar where we attended a quiz was lovely.The quizmaster who also done amazing magic was very entertaining.This is amongst the very best hotels we have visited and will definitely be back.

The most wonderful hotel! We stayed in the whisky room, it was truly beautiful and I many small touches to make the stay extra special. Food was consistently fab, staff so friendly and made our stay great.
