Machaan Wilderness Lodge Nagarahole

Our recent stay at Machaan Wilderness Lodge exceeded our expectations. The luxury rooms were not just great but also tastefully designed, providing a stunning view of the open field and forest from the balcony. The food was good, though we would like to see more regional cuisine on the menu. What really made this place stand out were the bird watching and nature walk activities led by their in house naturalists. Gowtham, our birdwatching guide, displayed exceptional knowledge of local species. His genuine enthusiasm to share his expertise added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Guests were provided  with binoculars.  Shreyas' nature walk was equally enlightening, creating a newfound appreciation for the environment and wildlife. The guides' passion and commitment to educating guests are truly commendable. Machaan Wilderness Lodge is a haven for nature enthusiasts, not just providing a comfortable stay but also delivering an immersive experience in the beauty of nature. Another plus is its convenient 15-minute drive from Nagerhole entrance. Highly recommended!

It has been a great Stay and great experience overall From temple visit to bird watching, to safari and wildlife documentary screening. The food, the sustainability initiatives and the staff were absolutely awesome. Special mention to Shreyas for curating every experience and taking around for beautiful bird watching session and Pemmiah taking us around.

Well the agoda app said it was a cottage with a tub a private area. But ended up in a cabin which was so small that ended once we entered. Food was good, the over all experience was a 2 out of 5 But thank you for letting us know about the luxury machaan with tents which was of the same price we paid for the cottage turned out to be a cabin.

We visited Machan Wilderness Nagarhole during summer with our 5 month old infant. Pros - 1. The host, Shreyas, is a nature-loving enthusiastic person who'll take you around for bird-watching during the mornings. He'll definitely make your stay memorable with the hospitality. 2. We were put up at the TENT and it's a really nice room to be in for a couple of nights. It gives you access to a private Jacuzzi in the balcony facing the National Park. Side note - Nevertheless, if you are not a big fan of Jacuzzi, I'd rather advise you to save some money and go for the Cottage. It has the same view with a balcony. 3. The property must be a delight during the winters!! 4. The buggy service, the room service, anything service is fine and the hospitality is top-notch! Cons - 1. It was almost 38 degrees during the summer. There is a frequent load shedding problem at the property and hence the AC in the Tent takes about 10 mins to load up every time the power goes. And trust me, the power goes twice every hour. This made the stay tough during the days. 2. The restaurant at the property - The Fig Tree, is average. The food does not match the property's luxurious setting.

The hotel was very good. The guides who took us on a tour inside property was great.....all three - plant tour, night walk and bird watch. The resturant staff were prompt and helpful. The property itself is new and very neat and clean. It is placed amidst the coffee plantation.

Everything was excellent: the accommodation, the facilities, the food, the staff, the surroundings...! The scenery was fantastic, we had very wonderful days together to rest, enjoy walks to discover so ***y colourful birds and plants. A special thanks to Gowtham, trained naturalist, for the opportunity to walk and learn so much on local fauna and flora. It is also very close to the tiger reserve with opportunities for unforgettable safaris!

There is no proper veg food in the restaurant and rooms are too far, they just have 1 buggy for the entire property and you need to wait for very long. There is no resturant near the resort you have to go 1 hour for a restaurant from here. There is no high tea at free of cost. The photos looks great but bad experience and told them for refund of 1 day because there is no veg food available they denied so we left the hotel with payment made for 2 days and stayed for 1 day.

The hotel is too inside, the reception says they have veg food and seperate kitchen but when visited restaurant the person says we do not hv separate kitchen not separate utensils. We clean utensils and cook. We booked for 2 days going back after 1 day Waste of money and time.

Fabulous property nestled in the midst of a plantation. Extremely attentive and accommodating staff who made the trip for us 8 friends very comfortable! Rooms are great and well-maintained. The local cuisine is a must-try at the restaurant. Thanks to Gowtham and the rest of the team!
