Our vacation in Gili exceeded all expectations, and this amazing hotel is a great credit for this. We found exactly what we were looking for: a quiet, cozy corner where every detail is created for relaxation.
The premier room was made with comfort. The bed is incredibly comfortable and soft. The cleanliness was perfect, which was monitored daily, and the snow-white linen added a sense of homely comfort. A special delight is the bathroom with an open roof — taking a shower under the stars was magical.🛁
The hotel is surrounded by greenery and bright colors, 🌸 behind which you can see the tremulous care of the staff. And right across the street, literally 30 seconds away, begins the best beach with giant sea turtles! Seeing them every day by the shore is priceless.🐢
Furry residents: Cute red cats live on the territory, which create a special atmosphere of home warmth. Be sure to feed them when you stop here! And just behind the hotel there is a local shelter for cats. If you have the opportunity, take some food there or make a small donation. It's a small thing for you, but it's a huge help for them.🐈

This man has a big heart. 💖He was incredibly attentive, helped us solve any issues, and told stories about the island and local life with such love that we got into this place even more. Наш отдых на Гили превзошёл все ожидания, и огромная заслуга в этом — этого удивительного отеля. Мы нашли именно то, что искали: тихий, уютный уголок, где каждая деталь создана для расслабления.
Номер премьер был выполнен с комфортом. Кровать невероятно удобная и мягкая. Чистота идеальная за которой следили ежедневно, а белоснежное бельё добавляло ощущение домашнего уюта. Особый восторг это ванная с открытой крышей — принимать душ под звёздами было волшебно.
Отель утопает в зелени и ярких цветах, за которыми виден трепетный уход персонала. А прямо напротив, буквально в 30 секундах ходьбы, начинается лучший пляж с гигантскими морскими черепахами! Видеть их каждый день у самого берега — бесценно.
Пушистые жители: На территории живут милые рыжие котики, которые создают особую атмосферу домашнего тепла. Обязательно покормите их когда остановитесь здесь! А сразу за отелем находится местный приют для кошек. Если у вас будет возможность, отнесите туда немного корма или сделайте небольшой donation. Для вас это мелочь, а для них — огромная помощь.
Отдельная благодарность — менеджеру Сэму! Этот человек с большим сердцем. Он был невероятно внимателен, помогал решать любые вопросы и с такой любовью рассказывал истории об острове и жизни местных, что мы проникались этим местом ещё больше. Сэм, мы всей душой желаем вам скорейшего восстановления и крепкого здоровья! Именно благодаря таким отзывчивым и добрым людям, как вы, такие места становятся по-настоящему особенными.
Этот отель и весь остров Гили подарили нам не просто отдых, а ощущение гармонии и душевного тепла. Мы уезжали с чувством, что обязательно вернёмся.

We stayed at Pondok Santi Estate in Gili Trawangan for four nights, and from the very first moment, everything exceeded our expectations. The level of service is outstanding — a true 5 out of 5 — and the experience feels much more like a five-star luxury resort rather than a hotel.
Every detail is beautifully designed and perfectly maintained. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable. Housekeeping is impeccable, and the staff is attentive without ever being intrusive.
The restaurant experience deserves special praise. The food quality, presentation, and service were consistently excellent. Breakfasts were a highlight of our stay — fresh, delicious, and served in a peaceful, beautiful setting that made every morning feel special.
What truly sets this resort apart is the warmth and professionalism of the team. From the room staff to the restaurant team, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome and well cared for throughout our stay.
Personally, Gili Trawangan itself is not a destination that impressed me greatly. However, Pondok Santi Estate completely transformed our experience and made the island a place I would happily return to again — specifically because of this resort.
We feel very fortunate to have stayed here and are deeply grateful for such a memorable and high-quality experience. Pondok Santi Estate is a true sanctuary of comfort, elegance, and exceptional hospitality, and we would not hesitate to return.

Private and beautiful beach. Not great for swimming or snorkeling (due to the tide) but beautiful for sunsets.
In general it's in a more quiet, less crowded area. However, there are lots of restos, beach cinemas, and a small grocery store in walking distance. It takes ~15-20min to drive to the other side of the island where the harbor, the night market, and lots of bars are located.
Rooms:
Spacious. Clean. Everything as described. Comfortable beds (mattresses are not extremely soft, but rather a bit hard). The terrace is really nice.
Food:
Breakfast was very delicious. It's not buffet, but the portions are really good and definitely sufficient. Every breakfast includes tea/coffee, juice, water, and pastry.
Service:
All staff was overly kind and friendly.
Room service up to 2 times a day (with homemade cookies every night).
Bikes are for rent - prices are the same as everywhere else. Bikes are a bit run down - but so are most bikes that we've seen on the island.
We recommend staying at the hotel.

AAnastasiaGSea Shell Hotel Gili is a small and cozy hotel where we stayed for two nights during our trip to the Gili Islands. The hotel is located inside the island rather than directly on the beach, but the ocean is still within easy walking distance — just a short walk to the left side of the island. Considering the size of Gili, the location is actually quite convenient and quiet.
Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. The bathroom was also quite big with good plumbing — hot water was always available and the water pressure was strong. Overall everything was clean and well maintained.
One small thing that felt a bit strange was that we were given only one towel per person. If a place positions itself as a hotel rather than a guesthouse, it would be nice to have at least two towels per guest.
Another detail we didn’t love was the drinking water system. Water is provided in a jug rather than sealed plastic bottles. While it may be more eco-friendly, personally I feel a bit more comfortable when the drinking water comes in sealed bottles.
The hotel has a large swimming pool which looks nice, although we didn’t end up using it — when you’re on Gili, swimming in the ocean feels like the obvious choice.
Breakfast was probably the most disappointing part of the stay. There is a menu, but in reality there aren’t many options to choose from. On the second morning about half of the menu was unavailable when we tried to order, and no explanation was given.

Overall, Sea Shell Hotel Gili is a decent option if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with spacious rooms and a good bathroom. It’s not perfect, but for a short stay on the island it worked well enough.

Ttaotao0210This is a fantastic hotel! It's located near the pier but far enough from the main bar area, so it's quiet at night. It's also a quick walk if you need to buy anything. The hotel breakfast is excellent, with a great variety of homemade bread and different main dishes, all very tasty. The staff are warm and polite, and the pool is also wonderful. Compared to another hotel of the same price point we stayed at in the northern part of the island, Pearl is superior in every aspect.

GGuest UserAlthough this hotel is rated 5-star, it really doesn't live up to it anymore. I'd say it's a maximum of 4-star, everything feels a bit worn out. The biggest plus is its location, especially if you're looking for clean water without the boats and gas fumes you'd find near a port.
For two consecutive nights, we heard someone running and making noise in the attic room above us. We asked the staff to check it out, and they said everything was fine, but it happened again the next night. It sounded like cats.
On the positive side, the in-room internet was good, and having Netflix was a nice bonus.

GGuest UserDon’t believe the pictures in the advertisement! They don’t reflect reality. The pictures pretend that the hotel is at least a 4 * location. The truth is that this is not the case! It is located at a very poor area in mid of the island where local people burn their trash including plastic. The smell is disgusting it is everywhere, in your room also during night and it burns in your eyes. The hotel is run by a group of very young unprofessional boys and I would like to emphasise that they are really friendly, kind and helpful and try to do their best. They also prepare breakfast in a kitchen which is disgusting! Therefore, I preferred to have breakfast at a proper place even though breakfast was included. See the attached fotos to get an impression what expects you and better choose another hotel if you want to enjoy your holidays. I had to pay 400 € for 3 nights, it is not worth half the price. I tried to get a reimbursement but the hotel didn’t accept. They obviously see the hotel as a cash cow and not a place where their guest should feel comfortable. This was very frustrating! At the end Trip. com accepted my complaint and offered me help. My advice: Choose a hotel at the beach, there are so many!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is location one block from ocean. (5minute walk to pier). Gili at is a noisy island with parties going until the early hours of the morning. We couldn’t hear any of it from the hotel however every morning at 4am the mosque their service for an hour (or longer) which is VERY loud and makes it hard to sleep through the night. The hotel does provide ear plugs for this which is nice.
The rooms NEVER got cleaned. Towels were not replaced and bed sheets changed.
The bar has a decent happy hour but the drinks are not strong at all. Often tasting like non alcoholic drinks.
Wifi is not very good. Unless it’s very late.
No hairdryers or anything extra like this. Only toothbrush and toothpaste. (Which we’re not replaced) we ended up buying our own toothpaste.
The hotel staff are VERY friendly though. Which was lovely.
The hotel offers tours and trips etc for a decent price as well as speedy laundry service.
The meals are pretty decent , the included breakfast is not amazing but it’s okay.
If you’re only here for a day or 2 then it’s really not a bad hotel.
