Honest Review: Beautiful Location, But Showing Its Age.
I stayed at Merusaka Nusa Dua expecting a true 5-star experience, but the hotel feels like an older property that is not being properly maintained.
The Good:
• The location is excellent right in prime Nusa Dua, just steps away from a long stretch of beautiful white sandy beach that is very clean.
• The lobby is spacious, airy, and surprisingly cool and welcoming.
• staff are friendly and professional.
The Bad: Unfortunately, our first room was extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioning was not working properly (the room stayed hot and humid), with water dripping from the unit due to condensation.
When we called reception, they sent an engineer who confirmed the unit was old and basically couldn’t fix it on the spot.
Thankfully, Pak Jaya (the manager) responded quickly and personally came to move us to a new room. The second room’s air conditioning worked perfectly and was very cooling. His personal attention and fast action were much appreciated.
However, the restaurant buffet was as disappointing as the first room. Flies were swarming around the food stations, especially the eggs, fruits, and porridge. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this category.
Final Thoughts: Merusaka Nusa Dua has a fantastic location and some good staff, but the hotel is clearly aging and the maintenance standards (especially air conditioning and pest control in the restaurant) need serious improvement.
Management should review their maintenance schedule and monitor room conditions more strictly.
Because of this experience, I would not choose to stay here again.
Rating suggestion: 3/5 or 6/10 (mainly saved by the location and the manager’s helpful response).
