De Ubud Villas & Spa

Very nice and special place. Staff very friendly and service minded. It was a very quite place, the only sound to hear was ftom the natur around. Tte buildings was made by timber, and you could have the feeling of beeing outside when you visited the bathroom, even it was well discovered. Highly recomented.

What Worked Well: -Staff was incredibly attentive, responsive and kind; -Shuttles were readily available to near town center stops -Breakfast and food in general was top notch in the first few days -If you want some separation from the Ubud center, location was reasonable as it was about a 10-15 minute shuttle ride away depending upon traffic and a 30 minute walk if a walker -Common pool area was nice and they kept the pool clean -During our stay, there were three dogs consistently around the property; a big one and two little adorable puppies. Our kids enjoyed the puppies -Rustic villa, if that’s the experience you’re going for What Didn’t Work Well (or at all): -For context, I want to note that we paid almost ~4K for 6 nights and 3 bedrooms so while this is picky perhaps, this comes from a place of what we paid for versus what we got. Also, as this is considered a 4+ star place according to Trip Advisor ratings, this fell short to us for the following reasons: -Cleanliness was significantly lacking; in the restaurant, we were sat at times in tables with visibly and recently dirty table cloths that we had to ask to remove; on day 3, we noticed that water pitchers brought to the table were so dirty that we switched to bottled waters only after that; bathrooms and common areas in our villas weren’t cleaned consistently even though we experienced GEICO droppings in our bathrooms (we had to ask for the bathrooms to be cleaned rather than this service being offered, especially since they know this is a regular occurrence, which they confirmed when we asked what those raisin-looking things were in our bathrooms) -If you’re not into super rustic, be forewarned We traveled with kids and at night, the sounds of roosters, frogs and other animals we couldn’t identify were quite loud making it hard for the kids to fall asleep because the Villa is fully open - only the bedrooms have full walls. Some of the GEICO had to be removed from the rooms (those were the ones pooping raisins - these weren’t the green ones which also roam around often but aren’t bothersome or scary to our kids). That is to say, great if that’s the experience you want, but be forewarned. - lack of consistency in the menu items: for example, we ordered the Seafood laksa the first two nights there; the order was delicious. We ordered a third time and they’d substituted the seafood without notice and the broth was different. We had a few instances of this. -this is not a place with cocktails so if you’re into that, bring your own liquor; wine is limited as well -the property allowed the (very cute) dogs to roam freely, restaurant included and the dogs weren’t curbed. That is, they would come to the tables hoping for food and we saw dog poop on the property in the green lawn areas consistently -this was an area where our kids would run and play on the swing etc. so we stopped them from playing barefoot though we saw another family had no issues with this. Excellent atmosphere in Villa and wonderful team, really enjoy and relax here in holiday. We visit De Ubud Villa over 10 times and every visit bring us the different experiences, and the reason why we came back again and again is the team members bring smile and show their hospitality, like we are at home all the time 😊

I loved our stay! Very friendly and attentive staff. They’re like a family! The villa is Instagramable. The breakfast option to have anytime is amazing, specially that we were jet-lagged. Also the shuttle is available upon request. Everything about our stay was magical! Despite that wildlife was part of the experience such as frogs, lizards and bats (just like everywhere in Bali), the staff was very responsive and took care of it. We felt like we were so welcomed and accommodated. Perfect Stay!

I stayed in the 3-bedroom villa with friends over new years. The villa is STUNNING. Beautiful open living/dining/kitchen area looking into a private pool. Beds are super comfy and rooms have AC. You will hear and see little bugs and geckos but this is expected with the gorgeous scenery you have around you. Staff are brilliant and very attentive to everything you need. I highly recommend getting the Indonesian set meal that is prepared by the restaurant onsite - it was so delicious. Highly recommend staying here, great location, great vibes, super peaceful and relaxing.

Everything was perfect. From location to accommodation. Their free shuttle service is fantastic. Nothing was ever an issue and the staff were beautiful and so accomodating. Would definitely stay here again and certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to be close enough to the main district in ubud but also enjoys their peace and quiet.

The seven of us thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The super attentive staff is basically on call day and night and responds instantly to our requests. Enjoy the pool, day lounging areas, cicadas, swing, and of course the breakfast that is served all day. De Ubud provides free transportation to and from town when you need. Highly recommend this chill place to wind down! You can see for yourself how awesome and individualized each villa is. The pictures they posted on their site don’t lie.

This place was the first of 3 we stopped at for our honeymoon Bali trip. It is truly a hidden gem. From the beautiful lush forest to the attentiveness and overall amazing staff, this place was wonderful. We had great massages, dinner by the pool, breakfast delivered to our villa and overall a great experience. Listening to the wildlife at night was magical and waking up to some friends (little frogs and geckos) in the living room was cute! They left eventually so don’t worry about them or any bugs/mosquito issues as the staff continuously made sure to replenish the mosquito repellant incense while we were gone. They go above and beyond so definitely recommend if your first time in Bali. It’s also walking distance (7 min walk) to the fun and nice nearby Gym / Pool Day club (Titi Batu). Definitely should check out! But we’ll definitely be back by ourselves or even with a group! :)

This is my second visit to this warm and beautiful villa. The hostess is very welcoming, and the staff are all very friendly; they can help with any questions right away. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The restaurant offers a wide selection of delicious food. I even asked the hotel to help me book a scooter and recommend restaurants. For all the information and assistance I needed in Ubud, the hotel was able to provide it. It feels like home during my second stay, and I hope to schedule another visit next year.
