THE BEST PLACE TO STAYIN UBUD Only 10 minutes(free shuttle) away from the buzzing city centre this smaller part of Purana offers tranquillity and exquisite service. Staff was very attentive, extra friendly and polite. Definitely stay in one night and enjoy a yummy BBQ cooked in your villa. We loved every minute and will be back.

This Resort is simply outstanding. From the moment you arrive you feel so welcome and every time you see the staff it’s like seeing a great friend. Special mention to Yanik and Agust who were so chatty and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. Really special thank you to the person who made the beautiful petal bath, it was so romantic. The villa is clean and tranquil and has everything you need. If you’re worried it’s not close enough to the centre of Ubud, fear not, they do a free regular shuttle and it’s worth being outside of Ubud centre for the quietness. My favourite thing about this stay was when we came back from dinner in the centre to find our room had been turned down with a little bed time story. These things make for special memories! Can’t wait to come back already!

We stayed for 4 nights in one of their private villas in early May. Location is on the southern side of ubud center so arriving from the airport direction you don't have to endure the traffic of the town center. At first glance the entrance seems small and modest but you don't have to take 3 steps from the car to reach the reception. Reception seems to be open 24h a day and you can always reach someone instantly by phone. There are also a lot of really good retaurants nearby within a short walking distance and mini market and such. For example Sacred Rice restaurant nearby is definitely something you have to visit, best fine dining experience we had. Area is also peaceful, I had an accident during our trip but didn't have any difficulties walking with crutches in the neighbourhood which tells a lot if you know how chaotic the local traffic can be. The Villa is simply amazing. The entrance is charming little walkway through green corridoor resmebling a fairytale and you arrive at the terrace area with your private pool, outdoor kitchen and the entrance to inside. The outdoor and inside areas are completely private. Inside of the villa you have a really nice kingsize bed that is one of the most comfortable beds I've come across away from home, a day bed, bathroom area and abundance of storage space. The toilet is partly outside area on one side of the bathroom and on the other side there is the bathtub and shower also loacated outside. We've stayed at a lot of resorts that can be categorized as luxury but everything in the villa was of good quality, no corners were cut and everything felt like someone had built the place to the highest standards to live there themselves and not like trying to have the most luxorious feel and look for the cheapest price. Pool was probably the cleanest we saw during our 15 day stay on the island, and everything inside the villa was spotles as well. Resort has a small and cozy restaurant that has tables on two floors located by the reception building and food there was delicious. Breakfast was not served in the restaurant but brought to our room and we could enjoy it in privacy by the pool. You can also order dinner to your villa and we even had nice balinese couples massage on our own terrace. They have few cars you can hire to take you to ubud and back for free or for a longer trip and the cars are spacious, new and clean. The cost for longer trips is little more than you would pay for a random gojek driver but the extra price is absolutely worth it for the quality of the service. But what really is the best part about the resort is the people. The resort isn't that big so you quickly become familiar with the staff and almost everyone spoke clearly better than average english. When arriving or coming back from a walk the staff greeted us with "welcome home" that sounded cheesy branding attempt but it grew on us quickly and when it was time to check out it really felt like leaving your friends and family behind. This was an amazing experience for myself and my family. The rooms were spacious, clean and had all we needed including a lovely pool and sun bed. The beds have mosquitos nets around it but as we were blasting the AC, we didn’t have to worry about them too much. The service was impeccable. All the staff had a smile on their faces with no hesitation to answer any questions we had. Notable staff included Komkng, Eka, Today, Agus and Hendra and the 2 lovely girls who served breakfast on our last day. We also highly praise all of the other staff as well but I didn’t get their names. I would highly recommend.

Just left purana with my family. We stayed in a 2 bed villa,we were really affected by the construction work which looks nearly finished but really did affect our stay,in a few weeks hopefully finished.I think the best call would be not to offer the 2 bed villa as it is a few feet from the construction from another property. We were compensated by the manager and offered to move to another villa(away from the hotel). We went a day trip and used pool club in ubud to get away.Expense that we hadn't counted on but the pool was unusable. Reading that you might think why not 1 star. The place is amazing and the staff are outstanding especially Today, he is really helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very peaceful compared to central ubud.Breakfast is chosen the night before and a good choice and again to a high standard. Having young children we used gojek to get into central ubud rather than the shuttle but it drops off in a good location. Would definitely return if we stay in ubud again.

Stayed here recently after reading so many glowing reviews and there is certainly much to like. We were lucky enough to have a private pool villa which was wonderful. Couldn't really fault the room, pool or outside area although the semi-outdoor toilet/bathroom could really benefit from somewhere to hang a towel or dressing gown. The staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly and the free shuttle into Ubud is very useful. There are some fabulous restaurants within an easy walk, such as Sacred Rice. The disappointment for us was the amount of noise - this mainly comes from barking and howling local dogs who are roaming around. I guess due to the layout of the resort some rooms could be more affected than others. Also, the villa next to us had a young child staying there who woke us up at 6/6.30am a couple of times when loudly using the outside/pool area. I think the resort would be better as adult only and people wihout kids may want to be aware of this. Yoga - we were a bit disappointed to find it was only available at 7am - we are on holiday after all! Finally, the breakfast, whilst fine and a good selection, it lacked some of the Bali-style fruit, seed and granola healthy breakfast bowls that we have enjoyed before. Hopefully some useful feedback here and thanks for a lovely stay.

My family stayed there for 3 nights and it felt too short. Right from the pick up at the airport to our checkout the experience was amazing. The staff are all very friendly and efficient and the response time to all our queries and requirements was very quick. The beds were soooo comfortable and it was a hard time choosing between the pool , the bed and going out for what we really came to do...:-). The shuttle service is very convenient and we made use of it a couple of times. They even dropped us off when we were late for one of the shuttles. Ubud centre is a short 10 to 15 min walk and touristy places like the monkey forest, art market and ubud palace are all close to the resort. We enjoyed the breakfast and the in room dining is very reasonably priced and served up quickly. We were charmed by the smart and chatty Agus (t?) who made us feel comfortable and took care of us during our stay. We hope we can be back someday

Purana Boutique Resort is a lovely oasis of calm and tranquility on a quiet street away from the hustle and traffic of central Ubud. We had a beautiful villa for four nights with a very clean private pool and outside living area, charming semi-outside bathroom and a really comfortable bed with mosquito netting. The small restaurant offered a great range of Indonesian, Japanese, Indian and Western food, although we stuck to the Indonesian menu and it was delicious and perfect every time. All the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and efficient and it’s unfair on the excellent chefs and cleaners to name just the front of house staff we met, but they were so happy and helpful - thank you Yannik, the smiling waitresses Arya/Ajeng and Della, and the informative and cheerful driver and operations manager Wayan Agus (apologies to those whose names I forgot to note). We loved Purana but sadly Ubud is not the quiet, tranquil place it was when we last visited 30-years ago. It’s overcrowded with hotels and shops and the traffic is a constant noisy jam - it’s quicker to walk than go by car, although there are some quiet backstreets near Purana away from the main roads. It was a relief each time to be welcomed back by the Purana staff to the peace and calm of the resort and relax in our private pool and eat the wonderful food. We can’t recommend Purana highly enough.
