If we had to rate this hotel out of 2 stars, we'd only give it one. We stayed there for 5 days, and from the very first hour, we were dreaming of leaving.
1) VERY POOR VENTILATION. We've stayed in many different hotels, and this was the worst. All our clothes were damp, the humidity was incredibly high, and it smelled like mold. Even with the balcony door open, there was no ventilation whatsoever. Our money even got damp, despite being stored deep inside our suitcase! It was horrible.
2) The renovation was very, very poor – dirty walls, dirty doors, and mold everywhere.
3) The linens and bedding were stained, torn, and smelly.
4) The breakfast buffet is geared towards those who love Indonesian food. The only things that were more or less edible, non-spicy, and tasted decent were eggs and fruit. However, if you didn't arrive by 6 AM, you might miss out because they didn't replenish them later.
5) The staff was the only redeeming quality here. They tried to help as much as they could, and that's it.
6) Next to the hotel, there are an Alfamart and an Indomaret. There are a couple of decent cafes nearby, but for anything beyond dirty street warungs, you'll need to take a motorbike.
We chose this hotel based on photos and a few recent reviews. Well, now you'll find a more comprehensive and HONEST review here, because all the previous ones were complete lies. For 2k a night, you CAN find good options, but this definitely wasn't one of them!
