I understand the critique of the hotel being that it's a bit away from the Ubud action... But honestly, I found that to be a strength. The location is absolutely stunning, and the hotel is only about 20 minutes from Ubud center on a motor bike. Exceptional service -- there was a mix up with an activity I had planned that day and I had to check out a bit later than planned. Staff were very accommodating... It's possible they just didn't quite need the room yet, but I appreciated their kindness and understanding nonetheless. Food at the restaurants was tasty, and I found the room to be very romantic. Will return here on my next trip!

The hotel location is perfect. Nice and clean rooms, great pool, timely shuttle service to Ubud, variety of activities throughout the week, nice rotating breakfast menu, and super friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback is that the property is not really suitable for physically challenged/ elderly people due to the vast number of steps one has to climb up and down throughout the property. Other than that it's a great place to unwind and have a relaxing vacation. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a really lovely stay and holiday! Thank you to Nova and the entire team for the warm hospitality! The team was readily available and will always go above and beyond to cater to our requests. We had a wonderful 2 nights at the resort in the forest edge villa and would love to go back in the near future.

The Alila is a beautiful hotel, the pool area and the views are stunning however we did not like this hotel. As two young travellers, we found the Alila to be far too quiet, to the point we felt we could not speak whilst in the pool or sunbathing, which for us is not fun. This hotel is more for people who are looking to relax quietly and peacefully and it isn’t a hotel for a group of friends. It’s also so far out of Ubud and whilst the shuttle service is a lovely touch, the last shuttle back is at 5pm so no good for a return after an evening meal, which we had to have in Ubud town as a meal at the hotel is the most expensive we have found after travelling around Bali and Lombok. Way over priced as well as the spa which was equivalent to £70-£80 English pounds for a massage (you can get a massage in town for the equivalent of £5!) There are certain aspects of this hotel that I can see to be a 5 star but for me it certainly wasn’t.

I’m totally satisfied with the tranquility the hotel provided. It is secluded and quiet. Perfect for someone who want to stay away from the crowd.

The beauty of this hotel is matched by the warmth and extraordinary service the staff are proud to deliver. We stayed for 7 nights half board and it was just perfect. The food is delicious and artfully presented. Our room looked over the beautiful forest and we had some inquisitive monkeys visit our balcony early in the mornings. The Bali dance and feast is a colourful and genuine delight with locals giving a top performance and insight in to their way of life. The hotel organised a bespoke tour; visit to local markets, temples, waterfalls, swings, coffee plantations and we joined a spicy masterclass in Bali cuisine (thank you Suesti). PIna colada's by the pool ensured everything was just so happy and relaxed. Massive thank you to the staff who delivered the best service I have ever known for their genuine, friendly, thoughtful attention.

Time flies! I just had an amazing week at Alila Ubud. This is my second time here and I love the breakfast and morning classes, especially the yoga and qigong. The spa and facial are super relaxing, and the staff is really friendly. They even make my favorite drinks! If you love nature, you have to book this hotel. Oh, and watch out for the clever monkeys during afternoon tea, they’ll eye your cakes! 😆 Can‘t wait for the next time I come back! #solotrip #solotraveler #lovethisplace

After the madness of the traffic upon leaving the airport and around the centre of Ubud, the Alila Ubud is a haven of peace and comfort, where the only thing that will disturb you is the local monkeys! All of the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly and will do everything to make your stay pleasurable. Breakfast caters for every option and there are two different Indonesian dishes to try each day. The serving staff in particular Sri, Widi and Sukma were very kind and were helpful when one of our sons felt a little unwell. Restaurant manager Yuna also took time to explain the area and recommended the “Spice Market” evening where once again the variety and quality of the food was excellent. In the Cabana bar/restaurant the food was again fantastic and very good value and we were looked after by Suriya and the very funny Nita! Alila living has some very interesting souveniers and unique clothing, and whilst they may be a little more expensive than the local markets, the quality is definitely higher. Murniati is only too happy to help you choose and should have her own YouTube channel to show the numerous ways to tie a sarong! The setting of the hotel is in a deep lush valley and is so relaxing and peaceful with only the sounds of the forest providing a backdrop. You can sit on your terrace and watch the various birds, squirrels and numerous monkeys go about their days. All in all a fabulously relaxing experience and we would love to return one day soon

Enjoyed my stay at Alila. The hotel excels in many aspects from the stunning setting, the spa treatments, the food and the morning activities which are well catered for beginners. Nothing is ever too much for the reception staff, a special mention to Seni who takes pride in helping guests. Some feedback/suggestions where the hotel can improve to make it outstanding: 1) Although the food is excellent the food service is very slow. The staff could be more attentive. There are ocassionally mistakes with food orders and forgetful staff. 2) Consider pushing the morning activity to 7am. When arriving for breakfast at 7am, the food arrives too close to the activity due to the slow service and becomes a rush to eat with little time to digest. Alternatively, commence the breakfast 30 mins early. 3) Ensure rooms are replenished daily without requesting cleaning. 4) Deluxe rooms can be improved. For example, currently nowhere to hang clothes to dry and guests are advised not to leave items outside because of monkeys. 5) Received a lot of insect bites while sleeping despite the room being closed. Maybe install mosquito nets. Regardless of the above, I would stay at Alila again.

We stayed in a forest edge villa and it was everything! Staff was attentive and we felt so well cared for. Unbeatable hospitality! We ate onsite for most meals and everything was delicious. Cannot wait to go back!

We’ve been staying a Hyatts all over Bali and this one was not as good as I had hoped. First you should know there are 40-80 stairs just to get to the room or go to the pool. The thatched roofs in the rooms are lovely but also very humid and difficult to cool. The restaurants have excellent food and the pool is to die for! It’s a ways from town so 3 days was perfect. Longer than that would have been a problem.

As they welcomed us, it's actually like a stay in jungle. Everything waw good but what made our stay excellent was their efforts to serve us vegetarian foods. It's my first stay where i ate such good vegetarian options because of the efforts of chef and servers. Only thing could be issue for some could be monkeys and mosquitos, specifically if travelling with kids.

This resort is very nice, although slightly dated now. The rooms are fine but they’re a little dark and could use a renovation. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and went out of their way to arrange shipping and luggage transfer for us. In the restaurant, they’re very friendly and welcoming, and the food on offer is genuinely very nice. We tried a number of different dishes during our stay and were more than happy to dine at the hotel most nights. The afternoon tea with sweet snacks was also really enjoyable. Overall I’d recommend the hotel for a few nights, albeit it’s not quite on a par with other Alila hotels and is probably a little overpriced as a 5 star hotel, when in reality it is a 3/4.

The atmosphere and surroundings are amazing, it’s really a stunning place to stay. The staff are excellent and have an amazing attention to detail. Nothing was to much trouble and they did the upmost to cater to every request. If you are after a super relaxed stay, this is the place to go.
