Hotel Wilde Rose is also called a 'guest house' in its publicity, and this shows itself in the friendly a**osphere and care taken by the staff. It is situated with quick access to the beautiful Old Town, right next to GruneMarkt. Be aware that check-in closes at 6.00pm! However, if you ring the hotel to say that you need to arrive later, the helpful proprietress will give you a keycode to input on arrival, and the keys to enter the property and your own room will be released to you via a sort of 'letterbox'. As this is a historic building (1628!) I also discovered that there is no lift. The proprietress had me down for a room on the 3rd floor, but kindly changed this to the 1st floor, when I explained that I had a heavy suitcase! It worked out OK. The Wilde Rose was a very pleasant, authentic and relaxing place to stay, and a good base to explore the historic city.
