The accommodation is located right in the heart of Little India in Bangkok. We weren't aware of this when booking, as we were solely focused on good rail connections to the airport.
Upon entering the hotel, we were immediately hit by an unpleasant, strong odor. The reception at the front desk was extremely unfriendly. The Indian staff member practically ignored my partner and was disrespectful towards me just because I didn't have my passport ready instantly. Only one staff member was friendly and helpful – the rest of the personnel were an absolute disaster.
The room was, at best, acceptably clean, but nothing more. All the furnishings are clearly outdated and appear poorly maintained.
Sleeping at night was almost impossible: other guests – predominantly of Indian origin – were shouting loudly in the hallways and behaving inconsiderately, as if there were no other people in the hotel. It was simply unbearable.
The only positive aspect is the location in terms of infrastructure: directly in front of the hotel, there are night markets, a 7-Eleven, and other shops in the immediate vicinity.
Nevertheless, the negative aspects far outweigh the positives. We only spent two nights there – and even that felt more like 'enduring' than enjoying a stay. We tried to spend as little time as possible in the hotel.
I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel – especially not for European or generally non-Indian guests. You are clearly treated like a second-class citizen there. A hotel should treat every guest equally, regardless of their origin – which was definitely not the case here.
Another absolute point of criticism: sleeping in is impossible. As early as 8 AM, the cleaning staff knocks on the door extremely persistently. Despite repeated clear requests not to disturb, they even attempted to enter the room with a key card. Only thanks to the additional lock were we able to prevent this. This is a massive invasion of privacy and absolutely unacceptable.
Additionally, we were not informed during check-in that the hot water needs to be activated via a light switch outside the bathroom. This meant that after a 12-hour journey, we had to take a cold shower at night. This is also a clear organizational flaw.
Conclusion: By far the worst accommodation I have ever experienced in Thailand – and I have already stayed in 12 to 15 different accommodations.
