The Hotel Del Mar is a good mid-range hotel located in walking distance from the Metro and close to many restaurants and bars. I chose a single-occupancy double room with a terrace on the 4th floor and stayed for 3 nights in mid January. Check-in was quite straightforward with English speaking staff who provided business like service but no explanation of the facilities either in the hotel or in the locality was offered. The room was clean and quite comfortable and just about big enough for a lone traveller - two people with luggage might feel a bit cramped. There was no desk/table other than where the tv was positioned - if you need to work on a laptop, it's not ideal. Internet,once connected, was good. The bathroom was fine and there was a fridge and hot air heating. A big plus was that the room was very quiet. I was a bit disappointed with the terrace as, although it was quite spacious, it offered no view apart from the back of the nearby buildings opposite. If you get a room on the front of the building, I think the views are better. Breakfast was included and the choice was quite good although the hot food provided was not hot at all. Overall, I would say the hotel is a good choice and was value for money.

I always stay at this hotel when I go to Barcelona. Location is great, rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is great. Nothing to complain about. Will definitely come back.

I arrived at the hotel at 2 AM after confirming by phone that arriving late and finding the parking would be easy. My mother had already arrived and paid for the parking. However, the night receptionist didn’t know where the parking was and only gave me some printed papers with directions that were confusing. Because of this, I drove around Barcelona for over 30 minutes, exhausted, stressed, and even crying. I stopped at another hotel to ask for directions, but in front of me there was a vandalized car and two men yelling, which made me feel unsafe, so I left the area. Eventually, the receptionist found that the parking was on the opposite side of the road. I only slept from 3 AM to 8 AM, and when we checked out at 10 AM, I explained the situation, but the hotel offered no solution or refund for the €25 parking. Overall, the experience was very stressful, unsafe, and the service was poor.

The location is great, right next to el born and the gothic quarter, as well as the beach. Plenty of restaurants around. The room size is ok, the hotel interior is decorated in a boat style. It may look a bit outdated as there’s quite a lot of wood and the room didn’t have much sunlight. The breakfast buffet has a great spread and everything was fresh and tasty. It was a pleasant stay.

Honestly, this place is a gem! Room 405 has the best panoramic views of the city/harbour and a beautiful terrace area on the roof for sunbathing. The staff were super lovely and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Ladies at breakfast were friendly and welcoming, the food was a good selection, however the hot food items sadly weren't hot (think cold bacon slices, warm eggs, warm beans) just about warm nothing more which by the time you've buttered your toast and started to eat its all cold. The room was super clean and comfy, room service was excellent, I requested more pillows and they arrived at my room within minutes. The hotel is centrally located for the city/harbour and for all the sightseeing. Beds are too hard for me but that's personal preference. I would definitely come back here again.

The first day wasn't great. There was an eyebrow pencil left by the previous guest in the bathroom, and a hair was found on the white sheet of the child's single bed when the cover was removed. It was especially cold at night, and the hotel only had blankets, not down comforters. However, after contacting the hotel front desk, they actively helped solve the room's coldness the next day and provided more blankets. The staff were very friendly, making up for the hotel's imperfections with a bit more warmth. The hotel's location is excellent, convenient for getting around, but the facilities are indeed disappointing. The floor is tiled, and it's very cold without slippers! The average room rate for a family of three was about €193 per night, excluding breakfast, and the facilities didn't match the price.

The hotel has an excellent location, just a few meters from the metro and the França train station. The room was adequate and very comfortable, but it had a strong musty and stale smell. Some of the staff (especially the one on duty early in the morning) were very unfriendly and unhelpful.

They gave us a really bad room; the window overlooked some noisy cluster of ventilation pipes. Although there were rooms available, they only offered early check-in for €15. The location is fantastic, everything is perfect.

Our suitcases were handled roughly during transport at the airport, leaving them locked. The young man with glasses at the front desk helped us find a shop that could open our suitcases. He was very helpful and kind.
