Wow! What fabulous little hotel! Gorgeous room, eventhough we had dogs with us...it was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom, with a jacuzzi bath, which I very much enjoyed. The meal we had in the evening was next level! Not so much your standard bar meal, as a gastropub experience! The staff were so helpful and friendly, from reception to bar, to wait staff. The breakfast was also impeccable. Wonderful selection, beautiful produce, cooked perfectly, with great decaffeinated coffee & pastries. Couldn't recommend enough if you're after a quaint and comfortable stay with excellent food and customer service!

What a lovely hotel this is. We came to celebrate a friend’s special birthday. And couldn’t have made a better choice. Our rooms were spacious and well appointed. And the food was great. Special mention for the staff who are exceptional, and for whom nothing was too much trouble. We have already booked a return visit, which I believe speaks volumes.

Booked this as an overnight stop on our way to Oban. Firstly ignore some of the poor reviews .The place is old but is full of history. Our room was comfortable warm with plenty of hot water.Tea facilities in the room were good with a great selection of teas and coffees.we ate in the bar food and beer were very good but a bit pricey. The breakfast in the morning was great a good selection and very good quality served with a smile.will be back again as we use the A66 regularly

Good morning, I would like to offer some feedback on our recent stay in your hotel. Firstly the staff are all friendly, efficient and helpful and the food has been lovely. We ate in the bar on Friday evening and have had breakfast for two mornings. However, we were firstly disappointed to learn that the spa is closed for refurbishment. This was one of the reasons we booked this hotel, to give us a chance to relax and unwind as a couple in the spa. When I enquired about the spa times at reception, I was told the spa is closed and it was on the website. I don’t know when this information was added to the website but we were not aware of this when we booked our room. Our room, room 20. There just is not attention to detail. The room is tired. There are damaged and stained areas on the carpet. The divan on the bed is grubby and on show. Lightbulbs need replacing, windows cannot be opened without jamming a towel in to hold them open, the blind in the bathroom is frayed, filthy, the cord is filthy and the workings at the top look like they may fall apart at any point. This is disconcerting as when using the bathroom, we were in full view of those on the car park. The bathroom door does not close shut properly and the lock needs attention. Our servicing of the room involved fresh towels left on the bed. The bed was not made. This is a lovely old building and we both appreciate that this brings its quirks however, our room needs some attention to bring it up to an expected standard for paying guests. We are disappointed with our stay and I wanted to feed this back to you. Thank you Sent this review 4 days ago-no response as yet. However reading the reviews I’m not expecting a response. I think we had a lucky escape that the spa was closed reading all of these reviews!!!

We enjoyed our stay - the food was good the staff were friendly and efficient . The bar is lovely and well worth a visit . We did part of the Greta valley walk which is lovely. The only complaint I have is that the hotel looks tired . The photos on the website promise a boutique hotel- it isn’t . It’s not got a 4 star feel to it . The price reflected that to be fair so lower your expectations a bit and you’ll have a good stay here .

Lovely night away and Afternoon tea at the Morrit Hotel. Absolute bargain. It was the spring deal, room, breakfast, free drink on arrival and Afternoon tea for just £127. Hotel Lovely, our room beautiful. Afternoon tea was really good and staff all very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Afternoon Tea disappointment. Firstly, tried to call three or four times to book Afternoon Tea, they need 24 hours notice. No answer which considering it's a hotel I was surprised. Eventually left a message. Tried again the next day, left another message, no call back. Eventually emailed and received confirmation back. Secondly, the tea was a let down really. Three finger sandwiches each, one tuna and sweetcorn, second one no idea what it was but had chives in it, third one was coleslaw but didn't seem to be anything else. Half a small quiche each and piece of sausage roll, both served cold. Scones were obviously not freshly made and couldn't tell what kind of jam (preserve) it was. Sweet things were nothing great, tiny meringue was soggy. Little square of carrot cake was the best thing. I was really disappointed overall, I have been going to the Morritt for years and always loved the bar and the garden, although over the last few years the food has been a let down, so we rarely go now and after yesterday, I don't think I'll be back soon. Such a shame.

We booked a deal for the hotel and spa for a night away as a couple. We were meant to receive a call confirming our spa times, luckily my wife rang up the spa as they didn't ring and they had made a mistake and not booked us in. Eventually after speaking to a supervisor we got sorted although we had to swap times around a bit. On first arrival the building from the outside looked the part and was clean and tidy. My biggest flaw was the reception, I thought considering it was the first point of contact, the reception would be less tardy. Our room, the bar and restaurant were decorated pleasantly. The extra touches that were part of the package were really nice. The Spa was great and not over crowded. The staff were spot on, and helped in whichever way they could. The food was also nice. Having breakfast, lunch and dinner there we had a chance to taste quite a few of the culinary delights the hotel served. We would definitely return if another spa deal came around.
