Fantastic. The place is spotless with the comfiest beds ever. Excellent power shower and a room with all you could need.Every team member we spoke to were polite friendly and so helpful. Only downside is you can't pre book early check in. Other than that its a great place to stay.

Absolutely fabulous, wonderful staff superb clean and well appointed room and the most comfortable hotel bed ever ever ! Smashing big bathroom and lots of room inside the hotel room to spread out and relax ! Fabulous breakfast and everyone couldn’t be more helpful .

Check in was at 3pm a bit late was not told about the 1pm check in for an extra £10 this should not be charged at all as most hotel do 1pm check in room was good but could have moved the sofa bed away from the window or out of the room altogether .

Avoid at all costs. Toenails on carpet, thermostat didn’t work and made a terrible sound all night. Room cold, Hairs on towel. Staff uninterested about refund the following morning. Given a link to to register complaint that doesn’t work.

The room was clean and had everything you need Reception staff were very polite Outside was pretty dirty with cigarette butts everywhere. This would be the only down side on looks only. Beefeater restaurant next door/ connected was handy.

We have been here on a number of occasions but over a year ago. Unfortunately the hotel now needs updating, the room we stayed in this time smelt heavily of mould, it had a small heater in that was not sufficient due to the window having to be open to get over the smell. All through the night due to the hotel being old you heard very load walking on floor boards above us. The check in as always was seamless and easy and in general the room was clean.

Bar closed at 10pm, while advertised as 11pm. Family gathering of approx 35 people, most residents. Breakfast not available unless booked, not even take away. Hotel need to up their A game in hospitality. Very disappointing experience with food and bar area.

Great location for Thurrock, Basildon, Southend. Very close to main routes for all South East Essex. Really comfortable beds, friendly staff and great facilities. 1 minus no bedside mains sockets although staff can provide extension lead if required

We always stay at Basildon South for convenience, and the staff are always cheerful, friendly and welcoming, and the rooms comfortable and quiet. Today I had a very quick and helpful email response to a query about my bookings. Big companies often fail at individual customer care and can be soulless, but the staff here clearly take pride in their work.
