Valamar Meteor Hotel

The Valamar Meteor hotel was in a great location right by the beach and near the old town. The view was nice and the room was clean. Breakfast is also great !! The sunset is beautiful !!

Excellent place to stay in Makarska . Central to everything beach^s resturants and old town firstclass in everyway highly recommend Valamar spotless rooms wonderful helpful staff. Best breakfast so much variety Unforgettable ❤️

Stayed for a week, saw loads of negative comments. I would say a lot of them are complete rubbish. Great , clean superb hotel , don’t be put off. Staff fantastic, everything you need and more, different nationalities who get on great. I’ve travelled quite a bit in my time and can’t knock this place at all. Give it ago, you won’t be disappointed.

This is a thoroughly nice hotel. Facilities include spa, restaurants, ******, children's club and play areas. Staff are universally helpful and of all the many hotels that I have used all over the world, this one has the best breakfast ever. In fact the buffet area is probably larger than the seating area in the restaurant. You want it, they have it. I cannot comment on the restaurant dinner as we stayed B&B but the Italian themed restaurant right next to the hotel and in the same group was excellent.. Location is right on the beach with eateries right along the promenade. It's a short walk to the harbour and the sea swimming area on the way out to the lighthouse.

Great hotel, excellent friendly staff, loads for kids to do, wide selection of foods for breakfast and dinner so was really worth doing half board. Location is great, really scenic. Would highly recommend for anyone but if you have kids definitely a great hotel for you

This is a great hotel in wonderful location - it has a huge infinity pool and right below is is a side-walk, and then the beach. You really couldn't get closer to the sea if you tried! We've been to several Valamar hotels in the past, and the Meteor is our favourite. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is excellent, and the hotel overall is very child-friendly - perfect for a family. We booked direct with the hotel and had a large suite with a terrace, which was beautiful. The room itself was very well appointed and very clean. Food was great - large selection at breakfast as well as dinner, huge choice of salads and everything was really fresh and tasty. Anything that ran out was refilled very quickly. There was always pizza and pasta on offer, plus a selection of different meats, side-dishes, as well as warm vegetable dishes and desserts. I think everybody could find something that they liked. We also had dinner at their beach restaurant La Pentola, and that was delicious too. For lunch, we ate at their pool bar - again the food was delicious and really good selection. The staff are super friendly, special thanks to Petra at reception who couldn't have been more helpful, and Matija at the pool bar who always smiled. All the pools are great, but only the children's pool is heated. We came in May, when the weather wasn't that hot yet, and the water in the pool took some time getting used to - same with the sea temperature. Swimming in the large pool is fantastic and super relaxing. Unfortunately some guests do not respect the pool rules which say "no balls and no inflatables" so here it would definitely help if there was a pool guard on site to keep an eye on this. There is also a large indoor pool, which is heated, and that is really practical if the weather turns cold. If you stay on the beach and rent loungers, you have to pay extra - otherwise just bring a towel or a beach mat to sit on. The beach is pebbly, and water-shoes were a must for us. The hotel is only a short-walk to Makarska, where you can find a number of shops, cafes, and ice-cream shops. We went to Split one day, which was about an hour drive each way. The trip from Split airport to Makarska is about 1.5 hours drive. Overall we were really happy with our stay and look forward to coming here again in the future.

We have 2 young children’s and the hotel was perfectly set up for us. Great children’s pools, nice infinity adult pool, right on the beach. The kids maro clubs has a small soft play and a perfect little playroom with lots to keep them entertain on a hot afternoon. Food was great and rooms clean and fresh.

Amazing week and don’t want it to end. Great location for excursions with superb facilities for day by the pool or sea. Staff are all really friendly and helpful and there’s a great choice of food available within the hotel or just outside if you prefer. We would love to come back again.
