Our stay at Le Méridien Batumi had both positive and disappointing aspects.
When we first arrived, there was no one available to help us with our luggage, which was not the kind of welcome we expected from a hotel of this level. Unfortunately, the attitude of the receptionist, Elisabed, was also not very welcoming or helpful.
We specifically booked sea-view rooms and paid extra for the view, but we were initially given rooms on lower floors. We had to go back to reception and request rooms on higher floors, because there is very little point in paying extra for a sea view if the room is placed too low to properly enjoy it.
Another disappointing point was the housekeeping service. Some of the staff cleaning the rooms seemed unhappy to be doing their job and were visibly sighing and acting as though they were being forced to work, which made the experience uncomfortable.
On the positive side, the food was very good, and the hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient.
Overall, the hotel has a great location and good food, but the service—especially the welcome, reception experience, luggage assistance, and attitude of some housekeeping staff—definitely needs improvement for a hotel in this category.
