ViaVia Boutique Hotel - Kathmandu

I wanted to take some time and share just how pleasant our experience was with ViaVia. The aesthetics and calmness, to the wonderful and one of the best care we have experienced, ViaVia really made sure we were more than satisfied with our journey. For me personally, staying at ViaVia's was one of the best parts throughout the Nepal trip, not to mention the extremely responsive people who were a gift that keeps on giving. A very nice place to stay if you want to visit Kathmandu. The hotel is situated in a very quiet part of Kathmandu, tucked away from noisy road traffic. Bodnath stupa however is only 10 min walking away, and the city center is easily reachable by taxi. Breakfast is served as a buffet and offers everything you want. There is also the possibility to eat diner in the hotel, which we did and we really enjoyed the good food. The owners of the hotel are very friendly as well as the staff, all of them very kind and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a good bed and a relaxing rain shower. In brief: a very good place to stay run by very friendly hosts.

Lovely 5 night stay, a clean quiet haven in the hubbub of K**. Great continental breakfast, free filtered water, great shower and bed, Yves and Maya are very helpful, Maya cooks a great Thai meal Only minus: the youngsters at reception we re not always very experienced or did not speak enough English to help with simple questions

Very clean hotel. Operated by Belgian/German/Nepalees couple and up to Western standards. The hotel employs under privileged people. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Continental breakfast buffet and eating a nice dinner in the hotel is posible.

We went to Kathmandu as the start of a roadtrip and we were very happy to see the excellent rooms. They were very clean and spacious. The food was always delicious. Very friendly host who gives very good recommendations for side seeing.

ViaVia in Kathmandu is an excellent choice for an prolonged stay in Kathmandu and more quite stay in this busy city. Situated close Bodnath Stupa you will enjoy the excellent rooms and the warm hospitality from the owners who can help you to make your stay in Nepal more enjoyable. Taxi rides to thamel are not expensive (500 Rs voor a single trip).

I stayed 5 days at Viavia Boutique hotel and had a wonderful time. The hotel is tucked away in a quite area and still it's only 10 minutes to walk to the Stupa. The room was spacious with a huge comfy bed, a very nice shower/restroom, AC and TV. The room comes with a balcony, and there's a big, very nice terrasse on the upper floor where you can rest and enjoy the view. Everything is so beautifully decorated with art work and flowers, and the staff does everything to make you feel comfortable (thanks especially for the help with sim card and taxi app problems!). So for sure when back in Kathmandu I'll come back to Viavia - I think one can't get any better for the price. Thanks a lot!!

I made a last minute booking here due to a cancellation & found the property very clean, nicely designed, spacious & everyone very welcoming. There is a restaurant on site with good food & the included breakfast was delicious. Owner was helpful, showed me how to get to places & even loaned me an umbrella. The hotel's setting felt like a garden. Highly recommended!

Area: The hotel was kind of hidden, but close to Boudhanath. Like a ten minute walk passing cute little stores selling bread, flags, souvenirs etc Check in: Young woman at the “reception” made me feel uncomfortable by saying my name and laughing strangely. Older woman was staring. I almost asked if there was a problem. Poor rating because of this. Lobby/first impression untill room: Cool details, furniture, paintings, succulents etc It felt warm. Room: Online they sell the room with balcony, but the room itself has no balcony. Outside the room is a shared open space. The bed is really soft and comfortable. Water pressure from the shower was outstanding. Shower curtain was a nono. Amenities provided. Cheap unfinished wood for the closet area, and white old fashioned curtains while the rest was modern and from better quality. Cleanliness: Spotless Breakfast: we did not eat, as we had to catch a bus but it looked ok when we run out the door. Check out: a young man checked us out fast and friendly. Worth the money: yes. I was surprised of how nice, clean, and comfortable everything was for that price. Coming back: if someone else checked us in then definitely.
