The Montagu Arms

We had great weekend stay at the Montagu Arms with our friends. The whole experience was lovely, exceptional service with good attention to detail. Food at the Terrace Restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. All the staff we meet were helpful and welcoming. I would recommend a stay at the Montagu Arms and we will be back soon.

Lovely hotel, the staff were outstanding, the service was to an exceptional standard. Very comfortable room and bed linen was of a very high quality. Would definitely recommend. It was recommended to us by friends who live near the village, we would have loved to have stayed longer! Best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. .

Beautiful hotel in lovely gardens in the charming village of Beaulieu. We stayed in one of their courtyard rooms which are both extremely comfortable and have an outside sitting area in the delightful courtyard garden. The service is pitch perfect combining friendliness with old fashioned courtesy. The dining room is reminiscent of country house dining and the lounges are cosy and welcoming. The food both in the Terrace restaurant and the more informal Monty’s is great.

We had a perfect stay at the Montagu Arms: great location in a peaceful village (ponies roaming around close by), beautiful gardens, and amazing hospitality. It was quick and easy to drive into the larger villages close by for dinners and walks in addition. We upgraded to a courtyard suite, which gave us that touch of luxury - it was spacious; had lovely decor and a comfortable king sized bed, as well as being peaceful. The bathroom was gorgeous too. There was a great selection for breakfast to start the day well. Unfortunately, we were there when the Terrace restaurant is closed (Mon/Tues) but the menu looks amazing. My husband enjoyed going to the sister hotel for a swim and use of the facilities there. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Enjoyed a delightful 2 night stay at the end of last week. We originally booked a "Feature Room" but were offered a very reasonably priced upgrade to a "Hayloft Suite" at the time of check in, which we duly accepted. Hayloft room is extremely spacious, with a lovely setting at the back of the hotel's garden. High quality fixtures and very comfortable. The general ambiance is very relaxing, with the high quality, friendly service being examplary throughout our stay, both in the hotel and when dining in the hotel's two restaurants; Terrace & Monty's. Pricing, including meals is towards the "top end" reflecting a premium experience in a lovely location. Would definitely stay again and happy to recommend.

Exceeded expectations! I booked an overnight stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday after visiting the motor museum. Our room (Hayloft Suite) was on two floors which had a large bathroom and own outdoor seating area overlooking the garden. Impeccable service, friendly and welcoming staff in a beautiful character building. We booked dinner at the hotel’s pub “ Monty’s”, the food was fabulous and of fine dining standard. Top quality hotel but cosy and welcoming and great to see guests able to bring their dogs! Faultless. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay at the Montagu Arms over Easter. The experience started before we arrived, when Amy in the reservations team contacted us to ask the name of our 5 year old daughter, to make any restaurant reservations and to check for any dietary requirements, we were already impressed. We arrived early on Good Friday and were met by Emma on reception. Such a cheery and welcoming member of the team who went to great lengths to keep us informed on when our room would be ready, even though we were not in a hurry. Vince was looking after us so well in the lounge, making jokes with our daughter and creating a very welcoming atmosphere. Very impressed so far… When we entered the room, a good 2 hours early, our daughter found a personalised activity pack on her bed, such a lovely gesture! Eating out is always a minefield with a plethora of allergies amongst us, but as we entered Monty’s Inn, having studied the menu online and worked out everything we were going to have to ask to be adapted for us, we were greeted by Cally who had already noted the information given when we booked the room, had discussed it with the chef and had options ready for us. This almost never happens, anywhere! Well done to everyone involved in creating a can do culture in this business, this place is evidentially very well run and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else when next visiting the New Forest.

Lovely area, great service; from the pub- Lisa, managing Monty’s, to the front desk, including Vincenzo and his colleagues. Rooms well appointed, food was good as was service at breakfast and the Sunday lunch- Paolo and the young lass waiting tables. Dog friendly, gardens, etc.

Fabulous family friendly hotel. Beautiful rooms and staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating for us and our two young kids. Especially appreciated were the welcome packs for the kids on arrival, and as it was Easter they also really enjoyed the Easter egg trail in the beautiful grounds of the hotel. During our stay staff we found the staff friendly and helpful and quick to help us if needed. We stayed in one of the terrace suites which were perfect for a young family of 4. Delicious food especially the breakfast and great location for exploring the new forest.
