This is a gem of a hotel. We stayed 5 nights to bag Munros in the area. Duncan made us welcome from the moment we arrived, showing us to our comfortable and well appointed rooms. The bar is a great meeting place for locals and guests, the lounge is relaxing and comfortable (with a log fire one day to keep the cold at bay) and the dining room is a great space. The food was delicious - we particularly enjoyed the no choice meals on the days that the restaurant was not open to the public - with the venison lasagne a highlight. The staff are helpful, really efficient and friendly. There's an interesting and varied wine list and draft beer, together with some good whiskies. There is loads of parking, by the hotel and just down the drive, and the area is beautiful, particularly Strath Farrar, which you access through a locked gate (25 cars per day, first come first served). We will definitely be returning.

Set in picturesque and really peaceful countryside about 40 mins from loch ness . Duncan, the owner made me welcome on arrival.and took time going through the room details and meal times etc. The hotel has a well stocked bar and is very welcoming and friendly . I didn't have an evening meal but I did overhear good comments from those who did . Breakfast was served between 7.30 and 9.30 and was well presented and plentiful. Overall this is a family run hotel in a fabulous location ,I am so pleased to have chosen it for my last nights stay in Scotland. If you do have an opportunity to stay here you will.not be disappointed.

What an amazing place! I was so excited to come given the reviews and wasn’t disappointed. We came during May half term and stayed in Cinclus with partner and 2 almost-teen children. Everything you could think of was considered- ready meals were better than many restaurants. We made great use of the spa, and the wildlife was gorgeous. Deers in the pond a highlight and amazing bird song. And kids loved Shanty the dog! Felt completely off the beaten track, roads were really quiet, felt so peaceful. Particular holiday highlights included- canoeing down the Beauly; swimming at Strathfarren; pony trekking and walking in Glen Affic; lovely dinner at Cnoc hotel. The list goes on… thank you. We will be back.

Have been a regular for the last few years at the Cnoc Hotel and at the start of July stayed for a number of nights. The hotel recently opened in April 2022 after a change of owner and has undergone tasteful refurbishment to the bar area, residents longe and dining room. Both the new owners (Duncan and Luzzann) were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure a memorable stay. Although the provision of food is restricted to specific days, residents were provided with meals upon request). The food was excellent and the portions generous - I found it hard to manage 2 courses! Booked again for next year. The owners have further refurbishment plans and I look forward to seeing what has changed.

We booked for a family dinner with our 3 young grandchildren. Our son and eldest grandson were walking in the hills nearby and were delayed, and our car had a puncture, so we arrived late and not all at the same time. The staff at the hotel couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming and helpful; what could have been a tense, frustrating evening was wonderful and the food was excellent .

A friend and I were travelling the An Turas Mor bike route and had the good fortune to come across Cnoc hotel for an overnight stay. Rob hadn’t had the place very long but was so accommodating and friendly to two wet cyclists arriving at his door. Whilst there are things Rob and his family want to change at the place, what they have already completed in the dining room is brilliant. The place has a real ‘country hotel’ feel to it with the downstairs consisting of a lovely and well stocked bar, a very comfortable residents lounge and the newly presented dining room. Our hosts were very engaging and whilst still very early in their ownership, the family has a clear vision on how they are presenting their hotel. We are in the dining room for our evening meal and breakfast but we’re given options to eat in the bar if we’d preferred. Our evening meal consisted of in-house prepared gravlax followed by a nicely presented pork loin with a home made brandy sauce and vegetables.. There are already very nice touches to the food, the home made bread, the hand wrapped butter through to the sensibly priced very drinkable house wine. Our breakfast was superb, finest ingredients of sausages, bacon, haggis, perfectly poached eggs, grilled tomatoes and more of the fabulous home made bread, now toasted. The coffee was good, the fruit juice tasted and all in plentiful supply. We departed with the intention of coming back to another great stay. Nothing appears too much trouble, the staff were friendly and engaging and as their reputation undoubtedly becomes more established in the community, I’d expect the hotel to rightly be increasingly popular. We were lucky to come across the place and would recommend without reservation!

We were staying at the nearby Culligran Cabins for the week, to walk the Munros in the area. Booked into the Cnoc for dinner this evening and it was superb. We had a lovely meal, a relaxing dining experience, before heading to the bar for some drinks. We walked home feeling relaxed and content after visiting this delightful hotel. The staff are friendly, hardworking and welcoming. The food was fantastic. This is a hidden gem and we hope to be back, with a view to staying in the hotel next time. We arrived early before other diners and managed to take a photo beforehand. I would thoroughly recommend a stay or visit here.
