We were really looking forward to our stay in the Gutshaus. We were a little taken aback by the first photo on the welcome page, which shows an old Porsche in front of a dilapidated barn. But that was probably a relic from times gone by. The room was ok, even if the price-performance ratio wasn't quite balanced in our opinion. We had imagined something different for a manor room for this price. So be it. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. That's probably one of the hotel's big plus points. Unfortunately, this is counteracted by the fact that you almost break your ankles in the dark on the way to the alternative restaurant, the old Fährkrug. All the stables are lit, but the path is pitch black. The wellness area has a similar problem. You have to walk across the yard and all the lights are off even though it's already dark at 5 p.m. in November. It is very inviting and tastefully furnished, even though the sauna at home is larger than the one here. So what is extraordinary about this location? Certainly the staff, certainly the absolutely quiet location and the beautiful surroundings. But you definitely come here, at least we do, because of the cuisine. Chef Christian Somann and his team surprised us in an unusual and absolutely impressive way. What an evening! Truffles in unusual combinations, balanced flavors, artistic arrangements. That's why it's worth coming here and we'll definitely come back.
