Hefeng Jingli Hotel (Houhai Gongwangfu Store)

First off, the location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a few minutes' walk from Prince Gong's Mansion, letting you avoid the crowds. Right outside, you're in an old Beijing *hutong*, with Prince Gong's Mansion, Shichahai, and Nanluoguxiang all nearby – super convenient for sightseeing, eating, and exploring! The subway is directly accessible, and taxis are easy to catch. Staying within the Second Ring Road means you don't have to worry about getting around at all. Secondly, the ancient courtyard vibe is incredible. It's a typical three-courtyard *siheyuan* (quadrangle courtyard) with blue bricks, grey tiles, carved wooden windows, vermilion lacquered gates, and a Chinese-style veranda. Every detail exudes classical Chinese aesthetics, with a beautiful scene at every turn – perfect for stunning ancient-style photos. The courtyard is surrounded by greenery with exquisite landscape design. Strolling through the courtyard in the evening, with the *hutong* breeze, creates an incredibly immersive atmosphere, completely removed from the city's hustle and bustle. Most importantly, the stay was super comfortable! Don't let the old *siheyuan* facade fool you – the guest room facilities are ultra-modern! The new Chinese-style decor is full of character, with smart room controls throughout, a Dyson hairdryer, and comfortable bedding. Every detail is perfect, and the room was clean and tidy. It was quiet at night, and in the morning, I was gently woken by the birdsong from the *hutong*. The staff were all incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They helped with luggage, recommended sightseeing tips, and even brought up takeout – they were super responsive to any request. You don't have to worry about a thing when staying with elderly family or children; they are so thoughtful. You can walk to Huguosi Snack Street, where you'll find authentic old Beijing *zhajiangmian*, *luzhu*, and *douzhi* (fermented soy milk), plus many other hidden gem eateries nearby. You don't need to go far to enjoy all of Beijing's culinary delights. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beijing! Once again, a huge shout-out to all the hotel staff, especially all the ladies at the front desk – a massive thumbs up! 👍

I randomly picked this Siheyuan (courtyard) B&B, and to my surprise, the stay was absolutely delightful. The courtyard, though not large, was immaculately clean and adorned with flowers and plants. It was so relaxing to pull up a chair and enjoy the breeze in the quiet courtyard, far removed from the noisy streets. The atmosphere was incredibly comforting. The room's decor was simple and unfussy, without any gaudy decorations. The bedding was neat and dry, and the hot water in the bathroom was consistently good, making for a very comfortable and secure stay. The owners were friendly and approachable, and very efficient; they'd help with anything you needed just by asking. Breakfast was simple home-cooked food, tasty and satisfying. The location was also excellent, making it convenient for exploring, dining out, and catching taxis. Overall, it felt free and relaxed, without any sense of constraint. This will be my top choice for accommodation when traveling again; I'll definitely book this place next time.

This stay exceeded my expectations; it was generally great. The hotel is brand new, housed in an ancient-style building that's said to have been a civil official's residence. It's very clean, and the small courtyard is tidied up daily. The scenery is absolutely stunning – it's so relaxing to come back here after a day out, really curing any fatigue. It's also very quiet, yet super convenient for getting anywhere, and there's a snack street nearby with lots of delicious food. The staff were also very helpful, even assisting with luggage, and incredibly friendly. It left a deep impression on me. This will definitely be my first choice next time!

I was very satisfied with the room and extended my stay for two nights. Although the room is a bit small, it has everything you need and the facilities are quite new, even a Dyson hairdryer. The breakfast was also very rich and suited most palates. The hotel is great for taking photos and checking in; I also booked a travel photography session, which I'm really looking forward to. The front desk staff are all very enthusiastic and helpful with any issues. The young lady was very gentle and even helped with my luggage, which was very nice.

Whether you want to experience authentic Beijing culture or simply seek a quiet and comfortable accommodation, I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely choose it again on my next visit to Beijing! Its location on Huguosi Street is fantastic, very close to the Huguosi Snack Street, where you can grab breakfast and dinner. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious, featuring all the classic old Beijing specialties. And definitely try the candied hawthorn (tanghulu) on Huguosi Street – 5 yuan for a skewer, and they're even pitted! Super highly recommended!
