The inn's location is super convenient, less than 20 meters from the shuttle bus and scenic entrance. The inn's restaurant is right by the river, and the dinner portions were huge, easily enough for the four of us. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and the breakfast was all-you-can-eat, which the kids absolutely loved. We really enjoyed a leisurely meal.

This hotel was incredibly comfortable, and the location is absolutely fantastic! It's right on the commercial street, making it super easy to find places to eat. Just outside the door, there's a cluster of popular local snacks like Doufu Jiao, Qiaotou Gao, and Luobosi Bing, all within easy reach. The hotel is also right by the river, offering beautiful riverside views, making for a relaxing and worry-free stay. The picture shows the delicious wonton soup from the hotel's breakfast. It was so good 😋 Because I wasn't feeling well, the owner kindly allowed me to take my bowl upstairs, and I felt much better after eating it.

I was transferred to the Xichen Inn after getting a call from customer service. Before that, I had my reservation at the 'Big Pagoda Zen Shop,' which was apparently fully booked, cancelled. My advice to everyone is to book your rooms a few days in advance when traveling, or you might end up sleeping on the streets. But I don't know why my order is still linked to this inn, so I apologize, I can only leave my review here. The place I was transferred to was very welcoming. They greeted guests outside the gate because the inn's layout can be confusing and people often get lost. The food there was also delicious and not expensive. A group voucher for two to eat until full was only one or two hundred yuan, much better than the lousy BBQ outside 🙄 (I also peeked into the pizza place in the square – one slice was enough for two Domino's meals, what does that even mean?). Overall, the service attitude everywhere was very good. Besides the inn, I went to other places to take photos and buy things. Indeed, everyone was all smiles. But Gubei Water Town feels like a one-time visit. It seems like everyone has read the 'avoid this place' reviews but still wants to try it out for themselves... I suggest that locals who can't travel far on weekends and haven't been here before can come and check it out. At least the sky is bluer than in the city. But besides the Great Wall, this is all deliberately constructed artificial Jiangnan, just like Nanluoguxiang. Friends visiting Beijing from out of town probably don't need to waste their time here. (The Simatai Great Wall is very steep. It's best not to sacrifice shoe comfort for a photo op...)

Staying at the Gubei Water Town Yanxing Inn was beyond my expectations! The inn is built by the water, and the restaurant overlooks it, offering great views. The room has a charming, rustic elegance, with wooden structures that evoke a strong Beijing flavor, yet the facilities are modern and complete. The service was warm and thoughtful; our housekeeper meticulously explained a guide to exploring the ancient town.

Very cute boutique hotel in the best location in Gubei water town, right by the water where the boat rides dock as well as a bus stop, just a stone’s throw from the main square and a short walk to Simatai Great Wall. My room was super clean with a wonderful view of the prettiest bridge in town. Breakfast was delicious and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

I visited on a weekend when the hotel was fully booked, so I was moved to the Gubei Zhiguang Hotel. It was a really good experience! The rooms at Gubei Zhiguang are spacious, the service is excellent, and the breakfast spread is fantastic. I'll definitely be back next time!

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right in the heart of the scenic area. It's incredibly convenient to walk to Sun and Moon Island and the Great Wall, and there's a shuttle bus that takes you directly there. Right outside, you'll find a lively snack street. We booked a family room, which was very spacious. We had a great river view right from our door. It was so relaxing to sit in a chair, soak up the sun, and watch the large ducks in the river. The breakfast was also very much to our taste, with freshly made wontons and freshly fried eggs. The staff were very enthusiastic and I highly recommend everyone to come and experience it.

I stayed at Yanxing Inn in Watertown for 2 nights and had a peaceful, enjoyable experience. The Inn has a restaurant inside, and I was initially worried about food smells and noise, but to my surprise, there wasn’t any. The whole stay was quiet and relaxing. The housekeeper was extremely friendly and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. We chose a ground-level room since we had large luggage and a stroller, and it was convenient because Watertown offers luggage services and buggy support. The Inn itself is located near a few buggy points, which made moving around much easier. The room was a bit small for 2 adults and 1 toddler, but it was cozy and comfortable. Overall, I would recommend Yanxing Inn to anyone who loves good food and beautiful scenery.

Service was immaculate! Always with a smile and staff would go out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. My child fell ill in the middle of the night and the staff rendered care patiently. Thank you!! ❤️

The location of Yanxin Inn is very near to the shuttle service station. We stayed at Yanxin Inn for two nights. The staff and the chef were very helpful. The room was reasonable size and very clean. We had a very delicious lunch at the Inn. They even provided an extra heater set for us when we told them it was very cold at night. Great breakfast sets were served in the morning but the portions were too much for the two of us. So we requested to just share one set for the two of us. The counter staff helped us to check the Drone and Water Fountain Dance shows timing and locations for us. Upon check out, the chef even helped us to bring our luggage to the shuttle service station. We will definitely stay at this hotel again if we visit Gubei again.

The inn has great service and is centrally located in the scenic area, just 30 meters from the shuttle bus stop. The riverside restaurant is perfect for meals and afternoon tea!

The house is in the city center, close to the shuttle bus stop. The staff are lovely and always willing to help. They use a translation app to communicate, so there were no difficulties at all.

Most convenient place to stay at Gubei Water Town with a very good restaurant for dinner and lovely service from staff . Recommended to stay on your trip to Gubei & Simatai

The B&B's location is fantastic! It's right next to a food street and a ferry stop, and just a short walk to the cruise terminal, making it super convenient to get everywhere. The May Day holiday was too crowded, so we didn't get to eat at the B&B's restaurant this time, but we'll definitely try it on our next visit.
