Holiday Inn Express BEIJING DONGZHIMEN by IHG

A great hotel near Dongzhimen, very close to Sanlitun and within walking distance. It's located in the embassy district, so most of the guests are international. The breakfast spread is very generous.

## Facilities The facilities were quite comprehensive. I was only in Beijing for an overnight stay, but the room was clean and hygienic, with a luggage rack and a place to hang clothes. ## Hygiene It was clean, and the cleaning was thorough. ## Environment To the north, there's a garden with a fountain. Everything was good, except for the slightly small room (though I knew the size when booking). ## Service The front desk staff were warm and attentive. Everything was great, except for the call I received rushing me to write a review after check-out. I had already informed them during check-out not to send a drink and that I would write a review when I had time, as I had a train to catch to Tianjin that afternoon. Being rushed to write a review while sightseeing in Tianjin was a very unpleasant experience. Does a review expire if it's written a few days later? Or does it cause some kind of loss for you? ## Special Compliment: Breakfast The breakfast was excellent every day. The auntie clearing tables was quick and even helped us find seats. The beef noodles and small wontons at the noodle station were delicious, and I had several bowls every day. Other dishes were also good and well-stocked. 6:30-7:30 AM is peak time for foreign guests, but around 7:30 AM, there are quite a few empty seats, though they fill up quickly.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just about 1 kilometer from Sanlitun Taikoo Li, roughly a 10-minute walk. The breakfast restaurant is spacious with a great variety of options. I recommend requesting a higher floor room for the nice views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
