We stayed at this hotel as a dual business and tourism trip, for which it sufficed. The hotel is nothing fancy, rooms and decor are a bit old, but not an issue if you are spending the majority of your time elsewhere. Breakfast is good with a large selection of food, mainly Chinese. There are free water bottles placed near the elevators in each floor which is a nice addition. WiFi was quite bad, but got better during the day and later on in the week. Staff were kind and helpful, even with the language barrier.
Location is very convenient, as the Beitucheng station is around 5 minutes away on foot, and provides access to lines 8 (central line for access to forbidden city, lama temple etc.) and 10 (circle line). You can easily take these to some of the other attractions (Summer palace), Capital airport (line 10 + capital express), South Train Station, in under an hour. You can also take a DiDi to the Great Wall in around 1.5 hours.
On foot, it is around 15 minutes to the Olympic park & birds nest stadium, and 30 minutes to the International convention center. The outside road to the hotel isn’t the prettiest, and there is a cultural park next to the hotel which attracts a lot of big tour groups, and noise from here / the stadium can carry into the rooms. There is a 7/11 next to the hotel for easy convenience.
TLDR: recommend for business/tourism if you prefer practicality over luxury. Good location to two of the major metro lines and conference venues.
