The Universal Studios Grand Hotel

The Minions suite was an absolute delight, satisfying both kids and adults. The room was exceptionally clean, making for a worry-free stay! Check-in was a breeze at the exclusive area, no waiting required, just a smooth and seamless experience.

Staying at the Universal Studios Grand Hotel Beijing this time was an experience of 'instant immersion into a movie from the moment you arrive.' It's perfect for families with kids, those looking to save time on commuting and queuing, or anyone who wants to soak up the Universal atmosphere from dawn till dusk. The hotel itself is an integral part of the Universal Studios thematic experience. The lobby and corridors boast a retro Hollywood/Golden Age studio vibe, with meticulous details in the archways, decorative lights, the clock glass design above the elevators, movie posters, and chandeliers. During Halloween, the public areas were incredibly photogenic, with pumpkins, hay bales, autumn leaves, and jack-o'-lanterns creating a fantastic atmosphere. The orange chandeliers and wrought-iron spiral staircase in the stairwell also added a sense of ceremony. At night, the palm tree lights and driveway created a dreamy, picturesque setting perfect for photos. The elevator lobbies and corridors were well-maintained, clean, and bright overall, exuding a resort-like quality.

I came to Beijing for a visa and also took my child to Universal Studios. The 1.5-day ticket plus one night's accommodation was actually quite a good deal. We added two breakfasts when checking in at the front desk and were upgraded for free to a Minions-themed room. The overall environment and hygiene were acceptable, but in terms of price, it wasn't particularly good value for money, given it's a tourist resort. I can accept that for now, but I have a few minor suggestions. Firstly, the hotel's bath towels seemed to have been washed repeatedly, showing signs of wear and tear, with loose threads and holes. Although we brought our own towels, seeing those was a bit uncomfortable. Secondly, regarding the details, the room felt a bit cramped. It said it could accommodate four people, but it was already enough for two. There wasn't much space for luggage. Also, the bathroom door opened outwards, and the anti-slip mat at the entrance would block it, getting pushed away every time the door opened, which was very inconvenient. I hope this can be improved, especially since we were traveling with a child, and we hoped for more safety and convenience. I hope the hotel sees this and finds it useful. Breakfast was very rich, almost like a full meal buffet. If you can eat a lot in the morning, I recommend filling up, as it won't affect your energy for the day. We weren't hungry from 8:30 AM until 3 PM, which might also be because it was hot and we drank a lot of water. If you have the option, try the breakfast; it's all good stuff. During peak tourist season, especially summer vacation, bringing children here requires careful consideration. If conditions permit, I suggest adding a VIP Express Pass (Universal Express), which covers 14 attractions with almost no queuing. Our 1.5-day experience taught us it's best to finish playing before 2 PM, as more visitors enter at 2 PM and 4 PM. On our first day, the experience was terrible; it was crowded everywhere. However, on the second day, with early entry and the Express Pass, the entire experience was excellent. Traveling really needs a good mood and state; otherwise, it's just suffering. I honestly don't recommend rushing through the park with small children. If your child is still young and under 1.2 meters, I sincerely suggest choosing a non-holiday period. Overall, my Universal Studios trip was quite good, especially the major attractions, which were well worth playing. For example, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Jurassic World Adventure, DeceptiCoaster, and Flight of the Hippogriff. I highly recommend watching WaterWorld. If you can experience these, it's already worth the ticket price. The light show after 8:20 PM was extremely crowded, and I personally didn't enjoy it much. Whether you see it or not, if you have limited energy, it's better to head back early. For 2-day or 1.5-day tickets, maybe try a quick peek on the first night. For 1-day tickets, watching videos online might even be better than being there in person. One more small suggestion: could the craftsmanship of some merchandise in the gift shops be more refined? Although the prices aren't as expensive as Disney's, I still hope for more perfection. My daughter said maybe all the effort went into the attractions, haha, maybe so. Regarding the food in the park, I thought it was all pretty good. Some items can be exchanged for an additional 5 RMB, which is quite a good deal. I hope the above information is helpful to everyone. The room was very comfortable, and upon check-in, the hotel provided complimentary welcome fruits and afternoon tea, which was a thoughtful touch. Our hotel butler, Wang Han, even added me on WeChat in advance to ask about our check-in and any needs we might have during our stay. The service was excellent! The hotel's private access to Universal Studios was also very convenient and fast. If I ever come back to Universal Resort, I'll definitely choose to stay here again! 😊

I didn't expect much from the early check-in privilege, but it turned out to be really great. We got to use a separate entrance, avoiding the crowds, and hit a few key attractions first, saving about two hours of waiting in lines. The park in the morning was also quiet and beautiful; the morning light made for fantastic photos. It was much more enjoyable than navigating the crowds at midday.

This hotel is right at the main entrance of Universal Orlando Resort, offering exclusive park access and an hour early admission for guests. Universal Studios is incredibly fun, but it gets very crowded. If you're tired and need a break, this hotel is definitely the top choice. Overall, the environment and service are impeccable.

Early park admission (not a ticket): Stayed on 8.31, and got to enter the park an hour early on the morning of 9.1. Within that hour, I managed to ride four popular attractions in the Minions and Harry Potter areas. The experience was comparable to having purchased an Express Pass! I basically did all the rides in one day, it was awesome! The staff were also very enthusiastic. I'll definitely come again!

The hotel was clean and tidy, and drinking water was always replenished, along with toiletries. The self-service breakfast was decent, convenient for an early meal before hitting the attractions. There might be some differences in taste (sweet/savory, soft/firm) due to regional preferences, but the Minion interaction was a highlight! Staying inside the park, essentially on the castle walls, was incredibly convenient for resting and recharging, and getting a taxi to the location was also fine. However, poor sound insulation is an unavoidable issue. It gets a bit quieter after the park closes, otherwise, Universal's background music is constantly in your ears. Overall, it's a pretty standard hotel, with convenience being its biggest advantage!
