Xinxiang Yayuan Siheyuan (Beijing Tiananmen Wangfujing Branch)

For my trip to Beijing, I specifically chose to stay at the Xinxiang Yayuan Siheyuan (courtyard hotel), fulfilling my wish to experience traditional Old Beijing courtyard living. Coincidentally, it rained, which unexpectedly added a unique beauty to the experience. Escaping the noise of the main streets and stepping into the depths of the hutongs, the moment I entered the small courtyard, everything instantly became quiet. The siheyuan was particularly charming after the rain; the raindrops pattered on the dark grey tiles, and the hydrangeas and green bamboo in the courtyard were washed vibrant by the rain. The red doors and green pillars had an even more unique ancient architectural charm amidst the misty rain. Sitting idly by the window, sipping afternoon tea, watching the caged birds in the courtyard and the koi slowly swimming in the pond through the thin mist, without having to rush from one sight to another, I quietly savored the slow pace of Old Beijing. This is an experience you simply can't get at a regular hotel. The food and accommodation were also a pleasant surprise. The breakfast spread was rich, offering many authentic Beijing flavors – warm, hearty, and satisfying, perfect for starting the day. The afternoon tea experience was excellent; the drinks were exquisite and delicious, and sitting in the ancient-style courtyard to rest, much of my travel fatigue instantly melted away. The entire courtyard is filled with cultural details of Old Beijing, from every brick and tile to the layout, truly allowing you to appreciate the charm of a siheyuan. There's no need to specially visit tourist spots; you can feel Beijing's unique charm and elegance right within the courtyard. What I want to praise most is the service here. The staff are gentle and sincere, meticulous and thoughtful in their work. Requests are attended to promptly; they are enthusiastic but not overly intrusive, striking the perfect balance. There's no stiff formality; it feels more like visiting a friend's home, very relaxing. Located in the Dongcheng Hutongs, stepping out allows you to experience the old Beijing streets and alleys, while returning to the hotel offers a quiet, private courtyard. Whether you want to experience siheyuan culture or find a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, Xinxiang Yayuan is highly recommended. This stay, enhanced by the rainy weather, became a very precious memory of my Beijing trip.

Sitting leisurely in the small courtyard, with blue bricks and ancient tiles complemented by lantern decorations, creates a wonderful ambiance. It's an immersive experience of traditional courtyard life, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, leaving me feeling exceptionally relaxed. The hotel service was excellent. The staff were gentle and polite, attentive and thoughtful in everything they did. Whether it was inquiries about check-in or questions about sightseeing, they answered patiently, and requests were met promptly. You could feel their thoughtfulness in every interaction. The location is uniquely advantageous, very close to Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The room was clean and tidy, offering a high level of comfort, and provided a quiet retreat amidst the city buzz. If you're traveling to Beijing and want to experience an authentic courtyard, this place is highly recommended. The overall experience was fantastic, and I'd be happy to return on my next visit to Beijing.

The overall experience at the hotel was fantastic! The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities and comfortable bedding. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, always willing to help within their capabilities. The two little parrots are adorable, and their Zhajiangmian (fried sauce noodles) was delicious. The location is also very convenient. I would definitely come back again.

I finally managed to snag a room at this incredibly popular Siheyuan (courtyard house) hotel, and it absolutely lives up to the hype! From the thoughtful pre-arrival communication about my estimated check-in time to the warm and attentive service upon arrival, the entire experience was top-notch. The Siheyuan itself is exquisitely designed; every corner is a picture-perfect spot. My daughter absolutely adored Doudou, the little parrot 🦜! She'd look for Doudou as soon as we got back to the hotel every day, and Doudou would accompany her while she ate and played – such a sweet companion, truly deserving of full marks. Even though the afternoon tea was complimentary, it wasn't skimped on at all. It was not only delicious but also generous enough to be filling, and beautifully presented. Paired with the Eight Treasure Tea and incense, it created a wonderful, ritualistic atmosphere – I felt like I was gaining weight! Plus, there's a goodnight milk delivered every evening. The small details in the room were also very thoughtful, with kids' slippers and separate shower slippers provided. The whole room is smart-controlled; you just need to speak commands, which is incredibly convenient and comfortable. It's clear that this Siheyuan hotel prioritizes the customer experience, and it shows in every detail. Highly recommended!

If five stars is the max, I'd give this place ten! This is hands down the best hotel/B&B experience I've ever had in terms of service, environment, and comfort. As soon as we arrived, the staff took our two kids to play, feeding fish, making cotton candy, and teasing the parakeets. They even prepared a table full of afternoon tea for us. The emotional value was incredibly high, it just made our hearts feel so warm. The room was also very comfortable, with excellent soundproofing, so it was super quiet. I slept like a log until morning. Super satisfied! I will definitely come back next time I'm in Beijing!

This room has a private fish pond right outside the door. Every day, the staff are so kind and enthusiastic, giving fish food to the children to feed the colorful koi, who eat happily while the kids have a great time! 🥳 There's also the super cute parrot Doudou, who you can hold and get up close with. We were all so sad to leave in the end. 😢
