Before I arrived, I just thought, 'It's an old hotel, oh well, it's hard to find a room during the National Day holiday anyway.' But once I got there, I realized an old-school hotel is an old-school hotel; you can't compare it to a chain. The doorman at the entrance proactively helped me with my luggage, carrying it in and out, which made a great first impression. I really couldn't lift it myself, and traveling alone with a child, having someone help was a huge relief. The cleaning lady was also lovely, always greeting me whenever I passed by, very friendly. Old hotels have their charm. I stayed for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, much better than my previous stay at the New Guomao.

I grew up in this area, so I stayed a night for some nostalgia. The hotel is located in a prime central area, making transportation and shopping incredibly convenient. Although the hotel is a bit old, the hygiene conditions are excellent, and the service is also quite good, especially in the details. For example, they provided four bottles of mineral water, and the pillows were buckwheat-filled, which were very comfortable. Overall, it's a hotel with good value for money, and I'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

The room was quaint and clean, tidiness was well-maintained, service was thoughtful, and the environment was pleasant. Sitting on the sofa, drinking tea and chatting while gazing at the distant mountain views put me in a great mood! The downside is that the pillows were too soft, affecting my sleep quality. If there were firm pillows, I would bring my elderly parents and children back to relax and vacation there every year. The hotel rooms already have a charming, antique style, so firm pillows would be an even better fit! I hope the hotel can make this improvement and provide more firm pillows to meet the different needs of guests.

Location: The location is excellent, right next to Xuanwumen Subway Station, which is an interchange station for Lines 2 and 4. It's also close to Beijing South Railway Station, making it very convenient for catching early morning high-speed trains. There's a KFC next to the hotel, and a bit further, you'll find other dining options in the庄胜崇光 (Zhuang Sheng Chong Guang) Department Store. Facilities: The facilities are quite comprehensive, including a small refrigerator for storing items. However, to be honest, the facilities are a bit dated, especially the bathroom, which clearly shows its age. Still, the fact that it has a wet and dry separation is a big plus. Although the room isn't large, it's very clean. I'm not sure if it's due to the continuous heavy rain or something else, but the corridor outside the room had a slightly unpleasant, musty smell. Thankfully, there were no strange odors in the lobby, elevators, or the room itself. Service: The staff cleans the room regularly every day, and food deliveries are promptly brought by robots, which is great. Other: On the first floor of the hotel, there are interesting historical introductions about the area. If you're interested, you can stop and read them to gain a deeper understanding of this neighborhood.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, and I really appreciate them upgrading my room. Even though the hotel is a bit older, it's very clean and quiet. With green spaces right outside the window, it's perfect for travelers looking for a short stay. It's also very close to the Beijing Exhibition Center Hotel, making evening strolls quite pleasant. Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk from CapitaMall Xizhimen, so there are plenty of dining and shopping options. The cleaning staff were incredibly diligent, coming every day to clean, even more so than some five-star hotels. I'd definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance!

The Oriental Hotel is just one street away from Dashilar, making it super convenient to go to Qianmen for food and drinks. I'd suggest renting an electric scooter for even easier travel. If you're not heading to Dashilar, there are plenty of hidden gem eateries in the trendy hutongs right behind the hotel. It's less than a 10-minute walk through the hutongs from the subway station. It's also really easy to get to nearby attractions like the Temple of Heaven, the National Museum, and Wangfujing. Most importantly, the hotel pays great attention to detail, and the breakfast is excellent, even featuring their special stir-fried liver. The amenities are all high quality, and the service is simply outstanding! I stayed for three nights and it was very comfortable. The hot water was great too, and the body wash and shampoo felt really good to use! It truly lives up to its reputation as a century-old establishment.
