I stayed only one night for a birthday weekend with some friends, and the hotel is absolutely amazing. I was upgraded to a suite-like room and I loved the bathtub. The service is great, everyone is friendly and I had wonderful service from one of the employees named Osborn! I was happy that some of the workers spoke some English, but everyone is very polite. We enjoyed the Okterberfest event at the hotel, the ride on the boat was pleasant as well. We didn’t get to bike ride but had a fun time watching people riding and enjoy the nice weather.

Winter is the coldest few days in Beijing this winter. Because the rooms have many floor-to-ceiling windows facing the lake, the air conditioning can't keep up. The hotel added two electric heaters and the effect is much better. The view outside the room window is great, and the facilities, services, and breakfast dishes are all online. Although we know that Yanqi Hotel and Sunrise Oriental are both Kempinski hotels, it is recommended that Yanqi Hotel increase publicity on its own WeChat account and social platforms to let everyone know more about the beauty of this place. After the heavy snowfall in Beijing during this trip, the scenery of Yanqi Lake was particularly charming. It is recommended that you must climb the Yanqi Tower. I would like to mention here Mr. Mei from the concierge. He accompanied our family on the whole journey of sightseeing and climbing the tower on a cold day. He was patient, dedicated and professional. Thank you very much to him. Of course, Yuki and Nilore at the front desk are also very professional. I saw many beautiful moments on the island during this trip, and I want to share them with you.

This is a very casual and relaxing suburban trip. The hotel is worthy of Kempinski's five-star service, which is thoughtful, meticulous, considerate and warm. Yanqi Guobin Villa is located on Yanqi Island, across the lake from Sunrise Oriental Hotel. The privacy of the park is very high, and you will have a unique experience after moving in. The 12 villas are surrounded by the main building, which is very quiet. The dining is in the main building, and there is a concierge service to pick up and drop off, which is very convenient. Afternoon tea, Chinese restaurant and breakfast are exquisite and taste great. In addition, there are reservation services for visiting the APEC meeting site and Yanqi Tower, where you can experience the diplomacy of major powers and see the scenery of Yanqi. The location of the hotel is so closed to the MRT stat - 崇文门，the entrance/exit is just right in-front of the hotel! As it was off-peak season when we visited Beijing, we were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed. We really appreciate the kind act. While I was still at other part of China, I thought of ordering something online and use this hotel as the receiving end, I thought of just checking it out, and to my pleasant surprise, the hotel does provide such service and the staff helpfully guided me on how to do so. After I checked into the hotel and gotten the item I ordered, a few days later, but sadly the item didn't suit me, the hotel again provides the service of allowing the courier staff to go to the counter to collect back the return item. I was amazed by the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the staff there. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times.

The Concierge Manager Jason Zhang and his team Mr Young Yang, The Guest Managers, Mr Terry Mr Koh, front liners, Rebecca, Evelyn and of course the 2 bell boys too. Mr Jason who is English speaking has gone the extra mile to help give us invaluable advice for our private local tours. Thus, Legendale Hotel Beijing is one of the best 5 star hotel that we have stayed in China.

Stay away! The saving grace came from Trip.com which enabled me to terminate our booking without penalty. Awful garbage smell in the room. We checked in at 1am due to late flight arrival. Upon entering the room we we’re concerned about a strange smell in the room. We thought it would go away so we just opened the window. It was late we decided we would ignore the smell but by 6.30 am we couldn’t ignore the foul smell anymore. So we wrote to trip.com to terminate our booking. By 9am we’re ready to check out. At the checkout counter the staff was gracious and friendly and she said our booking was terminated at our request. Just too many faults with this hotel room. Chair needs to be replaced. It easily toppled backwards. Toilet door can’t completely closed. Not sufficient electrical outlets to plug your devices. Curtains are dirty. No hooks in toilet. Only positive staff was friendly.

Location is EXCELLENT! It's just across the subway. And there are plenty of shopping malls and flagship stores for many international brands around. Super convenient with restaurants that serve super delicious local meals just next to the hotel. Staff is super attentive even in the middle of the night. Room bed and blankets are comfortable. Enough supply of bottles of water everyday. Free flow is Chinese tea and coffee at the lobby is definitely a big plus!! The only down side is the cigarette smoke at the corridor of the rooms.

Love the hotel so much. The front desk workers are very helpful. Everyday they’ll greet us and ask where are we going. Hotel location is super strategic and so many halal restaurants around the hotel. If you’re tired and don’t want to get out from the hotel,there’s a halal restaurant at level B1 new world mall. The hotel's only good trait is that it's close to the forbidden city and Wangfuijing shopping district. We were checked into a totally different room than we booked. It was like getting cat fished by a hotel. The hotel is quite stingy with its amenities. Asked for bottled water at the reception, they said they're only selling. I asked them if I could get some free bottled water, but was told they'll send it to my room. I wasn't going back to my room for the bottled water to come as I was leaving. My friend asked for water from her room, they didn't agree to send some right away, but instead continued to ask if there wasn't any in her room. We were mostly unsatisfied with our stay as the room did not match at all with the pictures on the Trip app. The breakfast buffet wasn't that good, it didn't live up to its expensive cost. And the concierge basically scammed us of RMB 183 for a taxi ride to the airport from the hotel, we could see that it only amounted to RMB 65-70 to the airport from the cab's meter. It was also my friend's birthday, so I asked if the hotel offers any complimentary cakes and asked them to bring it at 6pm. They said okay, but nothing arrived at 6pm. So I called them again and they transferred me to 4 different people until someone finally understood basic English and told me that I should've asked for the cake earlier, which I did right after we checked in. The hotel's staff does not do well with communicating internally. Somehow I expected good service as it was a Novotel hotel, but was left highly disappointed.
