Hotel Bohemian Garni - Skadarlija

This hotel is an absolute dump. Don't choose it even for a short stopover or a one-night transit. There's a terrible stench at the reception, and a huge staircase with no elevator (you'll have to drag heavy luggage up just to get to the reception). Filth is everywhere in the corridors. There were strangers' black hairs on the bed. It's a disaster, not a hotel! If I hadn't arrived in the middle of the night from my flight and had no other choice, I would never have stayed!!!

Pros: Excellent location: The hotel is right in the city center, which is very convenient for walking around and exploring the city. 24-hour check-in: The front desk operates 24/7, which is a big plus for late arrivals. Cons: Room condition: The room had high humidity. The lighting was poor due to burnt-out bulbs in the living area and bathroom. Unfortunately, the staff did not respond to our request to replace them. Bathroom issues: Mold was found. The door was swollen from dampness and wouldn't close completely; the skirting board and architrave were blackened. There were no towel hooks at all in the bathroom. The shampoo dispenser had a strong, unpleasant smell (reminiscent of fermented beer). Noise insulation: The window faces a lively pedestrian street where the noise continues until morning. Moreover, the window mechanism is faulty – the frame doesn't close tightly, allowing street noise, dust, and odors to penetrate the room. Summary: The hotel has great potential due to its location, but the rooms urgently need technical maintenance and improved quality control for cleaning.

The hotel is conveniently located in the commercial center, just a ten-minute walk to Republic Square. Plus, public transportation is currently free, so you can really take advantage of that perk! There are also plenty of great food options around the area.

Great location, everything is nearby. The street is noisy, but earplugs help. The staff are lovely and friendly. Stylish renovation. There's a kettle, tea, cups, and glasses. In the bathroom, there's gel and shampoo. There's a container for conditioner, but it's empty. The major downside is the cleaning. The glass is supposedly disinfected, but there's old grime at the bottom, it's even scary to think what it is. The worst part is the yellow drops on the floor near the toilet. I think it's clear what that is. And generally, the room has some kind of stains. The pillows are terrible, very high, impossible to sleep on.

Pros: convenient location, good restaurant on the ground floor, and a complimentary room upgrade, which was a nice bonus. Cons: The room was very poorly maintained, even though the decor didn't look old. There were stains on the curtains, a wobbly faucet, and some sort of blood splatters on the wall above the sink. The air conditioner was not only positioned directly opposite the bed but also spat out ice! Imagine lying in bed and suddenly being hit by icy pellets. But what shocked us most was a cockroach on the wall in the shower! We have never seen cockroaches in a hotel room, anywhere! Also, there were hardly any amenities in the room – no dental kit, no disposable slippers. There was only one bar of soap that didn't lather well, shampoo, and conditioner. There was no shower gel either – the bottle was simply empty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

The receptionists were very hospitable. I really liked the location, close to all the attractions. The room was cozy, clean, comfortable, and had everything needed for a pleasant stay. The only downside was the many stairs. It would be difficult for a solo female traveler.

Very clean and comfortable for a tourist stay. Within 5 minutes, there's a supermarket, many cafes, bars, and restaurants. We had a bar under our window that was noisy until 12 AM, but it didn't leave a negative impression as we ourselves went to bed quite late.
