Belmill Hotel

Went for dinner with friends, warm welcome from Dawn who showed us to our table at the window, staff were very attentive even though it was busy especially Jack & Dawn who looked after us superbly as did all the staff. Enjoyed a lovely meal & drinks with friends in a nice atmosphere.

I received an incredibly warm welcome from the owner of the Belmill hotel (who even helped me get parked!) - despite there being a large event being held & the restaurant being closed that day, I wasn't made to feel rushed or an inconvenience. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful with making some great recommendations for places to go for food etc... Conveniently located in the town centre, you have a large Tesco and plenty of high street shops within a 5min walking distance, as well as a train station a stones throw away. The room itself was really comfortable and contained all the amenities I needed. Both the room and bathroom were spotless and really spacious - I was really impressed with the care taken. Despite being on a main road, I slept really well thanks to the thick glass windows. The Wifi was super-fast, which was great and allowed me to work there without issue for the afternoon/evening. Overall, I'd 100% stay there again; it's a shame I came on an evening when they were closed for food, as the menu looked great, but no doubt I'll be back on a day other than Tuesday to rectify that!

Lovely hotel to stay in. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Dawn, Emily W and Emily W. Rooms where clean location excellent, loved the basket left by the door with extra towels toiletries and tea/coffee nice touch. Ate at the restaurant also which was lovely. Didn’t serve breakfast during our midweek stay but cafe on the Main Street.

Came here with my family for a meal before heading to the pictures last Saturday. Now where do I start 😒 The food and service really let the place down ( use to be really nice) bland, unseasoned peppercorn chicken it was that rubbery I could bearly get my knife through it, 🤮 veg stone cold and full of water, only ediable thing on the plate was the boiled potatoes. The Lasagna tasted like a frozen one that was put in the microwave, also full of water and hardly any meat, swimming in sauce. Now on to the Service.... crap! Placed our drinks order when we got seated, waited a bit for them to arrive which was fine as it was quite busy, so totally understandable but the service was terrible from then on. No one came to ask if our meals were OK, even when I left all of mines, not a word from the waitress as to why it was left , just picked up the plates and off she went😳 I then asked for dessert menu and the waitress slammed it on the table and walked away and never came back, (same waitress) older lady dark hair with glasses very abrupt. Never got our dessert order taken as we waited that long we had to leave to catch the movie, got the bill and left. Wont be back, sadly we use to love the food in here.

Had a pleasant surprise, not having been before to the Belmill Hotel in Bellshill. Purchased a groupon deal for this establishment because of proximity to Bathgate. It was a lovely friendly & fresh venue for an afternoon tea. My friend & l enjoyed it immensely, fresh cut sandwiches, hot sausage rolls, plenty of dainty little cakes & the lightest scones I can honestly say I’ve ever tasted. The Hotel was light, bright & airy & the staff friendly & attentive without being intrusive. It’s is somewhere to enjoy a drink, a meal or a Sunday roast in pleasant surroundings. I will definitely be back along with a few friends.

We want here today - party of 5 for afternoon tea, we had a voucher for it, phoned in advance to book as 1 vegetarian was with us. We weren’t given any drinks menu and told it came with tea or coffee with our voucher, wasn’t told if there any specialists teas or anything like which would have been nice, they brought tea and coffee over, first mug had lipstick on it which we said, took a while to get a new one, the afternoon tea then came was told which sausage rolls were veggie and that was all, didn’t tell us what was in the sandwiches, we asked to order more drinks, we still weren’t given a menu, niece would have liked a cocktail but had no idea what they had so got wine, we were then told we had to leave by a certain time which was fine at least 40 mins before we left so we asked for a bill and box for the cakes, waited quite a while for the box of cakes. Wasn’t really the best - not sure if we could go back.

Went for lunch 2 for £17. Good value for money. Served by Dawn, who couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Made the whole experience so much better than just the food. Dawn is a credit to The Belmill.
