The room was quite spacious and the environment was nice. It had a private onsen, which was very relaxing. I also tried the public bath, which was good too. The teppanyaki dinner was excellent as well. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Sakura room, which had one indoor and one outdoor private onsen, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. We had two meals a day, and over our two-day stay, we tried both the teppanyaki and Japanese cuisine. The teppanyaki was just okay, but the Japanese food was decent. The Japanese-style breakfast was also quite substantial. You can book a JR pick-up in advance, and the hotel is right around the corner from Umi Jigoku (Hell's Sea), making it very convenient for sightseeing.

The room was a standalone villa by the water, with both an indoor and outdoor private onsen, allowing for endless soaking and excellent privacy. The room itself was very spacious and comfortably laid out – I was extremely satisfied! The hotel staff were all very friendly and would smile and greet you whenever they saw you. The ladies serving in the restaurant patiently introduced each dish. There's a free shuttle service from Beppu Station to the hotel, which is very convenient. Staying in the detached annex was quiet and uncrowded. The only thing was that both breakfast and dinner were Japanese-style. While they were full of ceremony, I found it a bit hard to get used to the food. It would be great if there were more dining options. The hotel is close to several of Beppu's 'Hells' (hot springs), within walking distance. There's also a fairly large 7-Eleven about 500 meters away, perfect for daily supplies. I definitely want to come back again in the winter!

An absolutely fantastic all-inclusive (dinner and breakfast) onsen trip! Beppu is such a wonderful place for a getaway, and the hotel's service was incredibly attentive. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious! Plus, having a private onsen in the room that I could enjoy anytime was a huge bonus!

The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the attractions. Our room had a private onsen, but the public baths were also excellent. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with the Western options being particularly appealing to the Chinese palate.

Do NOT book this hotel! The only upside is its proximity to the hot spring by the volcano. Other than that, it's a disaster. The rooms are old and run-down, with severely outdated facilities. The old Indian guy at the front desk and the staff have terrible attitudes; they're rude and condescending. What's most infuriating is that they kept hounding us to check out before 11 AM, well before the official check-out time. The entire experience was a nightmare, absolutely dreadful!
