The Old Mill Bed and Breakfast

Very disappointing given previous reviews. No-one to meet us, had to pick up key and find our room. No contact with the owner until the following morning. Entry to the property was a give away- damp, musty, unaired smell. Room was large but had a frosted glass window (dirty), so dark and depressing. Bed linens, towels, toiletries minimal and poor quality. Breakfast offered plenty of cooked food but few healthy choices; no unsweetened yogurt, no fresh fruit, the cheapest processed bread. It all felt minimal effort for maximum returns. We did give feedback and owner was courteous about it but said categorically he would not change anything. So, would not recommend.

The Old Mill is a lovely old building that has been well converted to a b&b. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and importantly for us, the windows are easily openable. Bere Regis is a small but well connected village, there are many places of interest within easy reach.

David and Lorna were very accommodating. A lovely little B&B with a nice freshly cooked breakfast, highly recommend. We stayed in the Portland room and had a little balcony

Very nice B & B. Lovely building and a large bedroom Nd good size bathroom . Lots of storage too. Huge comfy bed. Lovely cooked breakfast with other bits like toast cereal yogurts fruit if required. Another good thing is fresh milk to make drinks in room instead of that horrible uht milk..great idea. The host David is a very friendly guy. The B & B is a good location with onsite parking and good to get to places to visit. Very close to Monkey World and Tank museum plus Swanage etc Highly recommend staying here.

Quiet location, ideal location for visiting the main tourist attractions. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Have just come back from a 4 night stay here and have to say we had a fab stay. Clean and comfortable room, very friendly host and breakfast was perfect every time. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou David for making us feel welcome Glyn & Stu 🙂

Coming from Australia, this B & B is like the ultimate postcard. Pretty, clean and comfortable with hosts that were super friendly and obliging. Great location as a base for southern England adventures. We enjoyed Bournemouth, Lyme Regis and of course Kingston Lacey historic house. Highly Recommended.

So returned back to one of our favourite B&Bs and good to see it is still as good as ever. Big rooms Big bathroom Excellent breakfast And brought together by a very amiable host (David) We drive more than 4+hrs from Derbyshire- that’s how much we like it 😀 We look forward to our return David & Jacky

Great Great place with lots to offer around. Amazing breakfast and great service, we will definitely return in the future. Easy to find and very safe surroundings. I recommend the restaurant The Royal Oak at Milborne St Andrew for delicious food nearby.
