Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade

Absolutely great stay with Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade for our 2 nights in Berlin! The service was excellence, well greetings to customers and we felt welcomed. Wide range of choices for breakfast and it’s part of highlight in this hotel! Clean and spacious room. It’s walking distance from bus station, very much convenient. For this price, we couldn’t asked for more.. highly recommended!

I booked the hotel as it is 5 star, but the experience was horrible. The first room we checked into had a dysfunctional bathroom lightbulb, smelled of urine, with pee stains all over the toilet. We got a change of room, only to face a terrible stench wafting out the room the second we open the door. 3rd room had cigarette smell and unwashed bathroom basin. 4th room is just as bad. Finally we settled into the 5th room, with a dysfunctional room lamp and 'fresh' towel with curly long hair folded inside. The rooms have stains on the carpets and walls, but that's the least of our concern at this point. As we walked out the hotel the next morning, I see another guest scolding the poor front desk employee, because a cleaning staff had entered his room (before 8.30 am) and started cleaning while he is still asleep. Apparently, the front desk employee had tried to tell the management, but they just do not care. We went to the breakfast buffet, and found dirty utensils, but this doesn't shock us anymore. The hot food items were cold, the fresh fruits were brown. My appetite went down each day. While sitting at the hotel lobby, my nose started acting up because of the strong cigarette smoke wafting across the room. Each day I hope the end of my hotel stay comes faster. So if you want to enjoy your stay in Berlin, don't book this hotel.

窗明几净，环境极好，房间宽敞，设备齐全，住的很安心。 The windows are bright and the rooms are spotless. The environment is excellent, the room is spacious and fully equipped, and I feel very much at ease staying here.

After really looking forward to staying at this place, I was a bit disappointed. It is clear they lack in maintenance staff and also some housekeeping. Though the facade of the hotel looks beautiful and staff is really friendly, the rooms just gave me 'the ick'. After checking in and being sent to a one person room (I booked a double room), so it was a messy start. They apologised and offered to bump me up a category, which was really nice! When I came in the new room, I noticed some questionable spots in the carpeting. Like the kind where you do not want to guess what it may be. As it was 2 am by that time, I went to sleep and showed pictures of the room the next day. I was offered to change the room. I did later that night after being out with my friends. When I woke up the next morning, I wanted to take a shower. The showerhead was filthy however. That led me to do another check of the room, finding similar issues as before. I called staff to have the shower issue fixed, which they did. It was actually exchanged for a new one. At checkout the next day when asked about my stay, I said I wasn't impressed. Then I got told I should have told them so I could have changed rooms... I was too exasperated to explain that switching rooms 2 times for a three night stay was already annoying enough. I was also told to come back in a year as 'maybe I will be lucky and get a refurbished room then'. Which was a weird joke to make. Other than that, great hotel, they have amenities and all you could want and the staff was really friendly!

Overall cool, big room, the bus-stop is right after corner of the hotel, the bar is nice if you wanna chill.
