Els Jardins de La Martana

Worth to visit if you are passing by or somewhere close, a small medieval city with nice restaurant in it. Try pont vell restaurant. A lot of authentic handmade stores inside the town. Parking is free. City is close to girona, 40min by car. Try and you wont regret

Amazing location next to the bridge of Besalu. From the outset the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We got a tour of the hotel and information on the history etc. which was a lovely touch. Spacious and bright room with air conditioning. Great shower. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast was just perfect. Staff always so friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. Couldn't recommend this hotel more. So reasonably priced for what you get :)

This is an older hotel so there is no elevator and some of the furnishings are dated. However, we loved it. The bathrooms are fully renovated and the view can only be described as spectacular. The location (just a short walk across the historic bridge) is perfect as it means you have access to the city without any of the parking hassles. We found the staff extremely friendly.

Good location, free public parking nearby, ok breakfast. Even if the Hotel has some very nice details, our rooms, except for the view, were nothing special. We were in Besalu in November, not a very big choice of restaurants in town for dinner.

This property is located just few meters away from the old bridge and therefore it has the best location in Besalu. It was very easy to reach by car as it is just at the entrance of the town and has a large public (free) car park at about 50 meters. For loading and unloading the luggage you can drive up to the front entrance. The owner assisted us with the luggage and gave us recommendations for places to see in the area and the best itinerary to follow. The hotel which consists of 11 rooms, is on the 1st and 2nd floor of an old building (1906) and has a beatiful lounge and an elegant library used as common areas. We were assigned a large room on the 2nd floor with a small balcony overlooking the old bridge and with partial vue of the old city. A nice touch for breakfast was the freshly squeezed orange juice.
