Lucky Star Hotel(Ala-Too Central Square)

The hotel claimed to have a swimming pool, but it was out of order. Housekeeping was mediocre. Breakfast was exclusively Chinese. I only stayed here because of the self-service laundry. The price was too high.

First off, the hotel front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made communication easy. They also offered currency exchange and information services. The hotel restaurant had a wide variety of delicious dishes that really hit the spot. The rooms featured a three-part bathroom setup, a smart toilet, and a particularly excellent hairdryer – it was quiet, with even and gentle airflow. As it's a new hotel, the bedding and linens were all top-notch. The price of around 600 was acceptable, though the room size was a little on the compact side.

The only thing I liked was that the room was large enough for three people. The bathroom and toilet were also spacious. The beds were big with comfortable mattresses and pillows. That's where the positives end. As for the negatives: - Terrible cleaning: When we checked in, we had to call housekeeping several times, asking them to re-clean the room after the previous guests, even pointing out the dirt and trash. - The smell of smoke was absolutely everywhere. - You couldn't get anything from the staff. - Breakfasts were only Chinese, very limited, and might run out. The coffee machine was broken, and the dishes weren't properly washed.

This hotel is run by people from Hunan, China, and I've stayed here for half a month, trying both the king and twin rooms, with and without windows. It's definitely worth recommending. The breakfast and dinner were very nice.

The business room I chose was quite spacious. Since it's newly opened, facilities like the smart toilet, sofa, and desk were all sparkling clean. The power outlets for charging my devices were very well laid out, so I didn't have to search for power strips when working late. The hotel also has a laundry room, which was perfect for washing and drying all the shirts and suits I'd accumulated over the week. I could head out looking sharp, which is so convenient for business travelers! 👏 The most pleasant surprise was the service. The front desk staff spoke fluent Chinese, so communication was completely seamless. When I urgently needed to print a contract, the front desk quickly helped me out and even recommended a reliable car rental service nearby – the attention to detail was exceptional. While the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it offered both Chinese and Western options. The freshly baked bread and local yogurt were delicious, and I left feeling full and energized every day. For this price, being able to stay at such a hotel in Bishkek city center offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next business trip here, and I highly recommend it to friends traveling or on business in Bishkek. You can confidently go for it! ✅

My recent 3-night stay at the Kyrgyzstan Star Hotel was severely impacted by numerous issues, and I received no apology or compensation from the hotel throughout my visit: 1. **Serious Electrical Fault in Room:** On the first night, the main and background lights in my room couldn't be turned off via the switches; the only way to shut them off was to cut the entire room's power. I had to hastily pack my bags and switch rooms late at night. The next day, the hotel asked me to move back to the original room, claiming the new room type didn't match, causing two disruptions with no apology from the hotel. 2. **Missing Housekeeping Service:** Returning to my room at 9 PM, I found it hadn't been cleaned at all. The front desk claimed this was due to concerns about valuable items being stolen, so they didn't arrange housekeeping. This explanation is completely contrary to standard hotel service practices, and their attitude during the discussion was unyielding. 3. **Completely Non-functional Wi-Fi:** The in-room Wi-Fi was unable to connect properly; neither my laptop nor phone could load any webpages. When I inquired, staff merely brushed it off, saying too many people were using it, offering no solutions. 4. **Poor Maintenance of Breakfast Facilities:** For three consecutive days, the coffee machine at breakfast was clogged and displayed an error. I reported it twice to the front desk, but no one was dispatched to clean it even by the time I checked out. The maintenance of the dining facilities was virtually non-existent. Overall, the hardware, cleanliness, internet, and dining services were all subpar. The staff were perfunctory and passive in addressing issues, showing a severe lack of service awareness. I do not recommend choosing this hotel for your travels.

Returning to G Hotel Gurney again, I requested room 414, which isn't facing the main road, and it was wonderfully quiet. This time, they provided plenty of hangers. After my tour, I had time to enjoy the giant TV, which felt like watching a movie, and I could connect to YouTube and Netflix. There were two different pillow options to choose from, the air conditioning in the room was perfectly cool, and the shower head was comfortable! One thing to note is that the sink drains a bit slowly. There's a water dispenser near the elevators on each floor, which was convenient for refilling my water bladder before hiking. I had dinner at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel's basement, and the Chinese food was excellent, highly recommended! For breakfast, they had glutinous rice wraps and delicious pastries. Coffee, tea, milk, and soy milk were all healthy drink options. Overall, I was very satisfied with this stay.

I was genuinely much more impressed with the room than I expected when I first walked in. It was spacious, clean, and tidy. Most importantly, I left my phone in the room without even realizing it, and a hotel staff member found it while cleaning and proactively returned it to me. I'm truly grateful for their honesty and effort. My phone holds so many memories. Thank you!
