I stayed here for a week while i was working on a theatre musical nearby at The Winter Gardens, so wanted somewhere quite near just to be able to walk there and back. Going to a hotel in Blackpool, you kinda know what your going to get with a budget hotel, so my expectations wer'nt that high really and just hoped it wasnt going to be too bad. And it wasnt. Sure, the exterior needs a looking at, clear up all the rubbish and tat left around under the seating. Got met at the door by the manager/owner and taken into the 'bar area' to check in. Usual drab 80's decor - but i wasnt bothered as only staying here to sleep! Its a pity the hotel didnt have a drinks license though - so no bar, but of course you could bring in your own - so thats what i did. After checking in and dropping my stuff off in the room, I popped out to a store round the corner and got a bottle of red! I was staying in the superior room at the end of the ground floor, which 'featured' a 32 inch tv on the wall and a comfortable bed. I did do the Alex Polizzi hotel room check around ( lol ) and found no horror stories. I always just take a jar of Kenco coffee and was able to top up milks from the 'bar'. You could hear people clomping around a bit upstairs, but it wasnt that bad. Tbh - for the entire time i was there aside from the first night - I didnt actually meet anybody else at all. It was a bit like staying in the Mary Celeste but it did seem full up with people. Overall, for what it was, I had no complaints. It did the job. It was comfortable enough, the room itself was clean and functional. Would i return? No. Only because I would of been happy to pay a bit more in a place that served breakfast and had a bar! But as a 1 or 2 night stopover where your not fussed about all that and just want to get in overnight and back out early the next day, its fine.
