The Bodh Gaya Hotel School offers spacious and well-lit rooms with private bathrooms at a very reasonable cost. The accommodation standards are not luxurious, but they are clean, comfortable, well maintained, and perfectly adequate for travellers looking for a peaceful and safe stay. The hotel boasts an excellent restaurant on site. We sampled the Indian vegetarian offerings, and were very pleased. In fact, after trying some of the other restaurants in town, we came to the conclusion that the vegetarian food on offer at the Hotel School was of superior quality. The range of items available is somewhat limited at present--after all the cooks are students--but the food is prepared with care and warmth, and it did not lead to digestive difficulties. But perhaps the Hotel School's biggest asset is the courteous, professional and friendly attitude of the staff, and the enthusiasm and kindness of the students, eager to learn from the experience of serving guests. The Hotel School is also well located, within walking distance of the Mahabodhi temple, and very close to a number of additional temples, built and maintained by a number of South-east Asian countries. And yet, because the hotel is situated on a quieter road, one is spared the immediate hub-bub and noise of the commercial thoroughfares in town. In short, we highly recommend the Bodh Gaya Hotel School. It is suitable for everyone, but particularly for visitors from abroad looking for a peaceful stay. If we were to visit Bodh Gaya or, for that matter, Gaya every again, we would definitely stay at this hotel.
