Vila Gale Porto - Centro

We really enjoyed our pasta dishes and the host/chef were very welcoming ＜3

Stayed in the hotel for three nights with my husband and our three year old. All the staff were helpful and friendly on reception. Our room was on 13th floor and kept clean every day. We had a mini bar in the room, safe and hair dryer. Decor a bit dated but we didn't mind that. A few English channels on the TV. The best part for us was the swimming pool on 19th floor, our son loved it and fantastic views of the city. We only had breakfast in the hotel, there was plenty of choice and again staff friendly and gave our son a plastic cup. The lady on the omelette stand was slow though, only 2 in front of me and I had to queue for 30 minutes, I would recommend finding a way to make them faster! There's an Italian attached to the hotel and we had pizza there which was tasty. Its a bit out from main town so we got uber for 4€ and we got an uuber to and from airport for 13€. Theres a couple of supermarkets close by which is really handy and they very little coffee shops attached. There a metro stop which we didn't use. Thanks for a nice stay.

Great food and lovely presentation! Everything tasted fresh and well made. The service was super friendly and made the meal even better.

Ines, our server and her Chef's, created a lovely repast for us. After a day of 'hard work', touring and enjoying the Portuguese countryside, we wanted to stay close to our hotel rather than walk or Uber to a restaurant. Our initial thought was, 'a hotel restaurant, how good could it be'? Excellent, as it turned out. Lovely staff, a delicious and varied menu with large portions, reasonable prices...what more could you ask for? Well, a nice Douro red, and a wonderful Gelato, were great to finish it off. All in all, this place is a gem, and you should check it out for yourselves!

Had a great time and the server was super sweet and caring, her name was Waine. She really made the out dinner special and worth the time. 10/10 for serve and Thank you Waine for making it special.

As a family of 4, we booked a suite to accommodate our family’s needs. This is potentially the best suite they have available, however we were incredibly disappointed from the moment we arrived. We came to spend new years in Porto, but the hotel made the experience less than desirable. From the outdated accommodations, stale smoke smelling room, lacking basic needs such as a hair dryer, tea kettle or coffee machine, it was absolutely not pleasant. We are extremely picky people, but hygiene and having access to basics while staying in a suite was very much necessary. The extra blankets in the closet were very old and felt dirty… I do have to say the staff the friendly and helpful, and the hotel conditions were not their fault at all. This place needs a major upgrade… location wise, not a great location either. The grounds outside the hotel had garbage all over, and we even found a homeless man smoking between the doors of the main entrance. There wasn’t a very safe feel in the area and with two kids this was also a hard no. The pool was decent but the sauna had no way to raise the temperature. The indoor pool water was pretty cold and the jacuzzi was not very warm either, although I do have to say that’s where we enjoyed ourselves the most. We were testing this location to see if it would be worth to visit the other Vila GALÉ but unfortunately it we will have to pass. It’s a hard no. If you’re looking to be stuck in a hotel that stayed in the late 90s without anything extra to make it up besides their lovely staff, look no further. VERY disappointed.

Terrible hotel with stains all over the carpet area. Hollywood posters all over the hotel in almost all floors and specifically in the ground floor with God father posters which gives the impression that hotel is managed by gangsters family. It’s not clear all at which we stayed in 12 floor and no proper ventilation Breakfast is again terrible. Recommended to stay away and look for other better options

Clean but full of bus tours that make you feel like a number. Big and impersonal. Check in is terrible. Be prepared to wait a very long time!!!
