Maison Manège Bordeaux Centre

We made reservations here expecting it to be a comfortable, but not fancy, local bed and breakfast. We knew that there were stairs and no elevator. However, what we didn’t expect was that the staircases would be extremely long, steep, and without any covering to make them less slippery. It was also self check in (which we knew). This meant that there was no one to talk to or to help us navigate the steps with our baggage. We travel frequently; this is the only time we decided to cancel our stay and quickly find another place to stay. We did not receive any refund. This is not a place for anyone who needs any kind of assistance. We are in our 70’s and in good health. We often choose B&B’s. But this B&B is only appropriate for people who can maneuver a challenging set up and who don’t expect any personal interaction with staff.

This place is truly like hotel meets home/Airbnb, as advertised. Staff are not on site evening/nights but you have free use of a living room with coffee and tea, full kitchen with designated spots for food in the fridge and on a shelf, and a nice dining room and very small courtyard with seating. Our rooms were large and included 1 1/2 bathrooms. Nothing fancy but very functional, especially if you are traveling as a family but don’t want to be all together in one room all of the time!

Staff makes you very welcome. Lovely spotless house located in the center of Bordeaux. Neat and spacious rooms, nice dinning room and lounge, and fully garnished kitchen, with complimentary tea & coffee. (stone stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms may be a challenge for parents of very young kids/if parking around seems easy by night, can be time consuming under daylight).

Beautiful design of the property added to the wonderful experience in Bordeaux. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Wonderful experience! Loved the location, the room, and the ease of checkin. It felt like we were on a street in “real Bordeaux” but we were a five minute walk from the tourist center. Easy self check-in (they send you a code an hour beforehand) and lovely breakfast. Next time we’ll stay longer!!

Very nice house, good location, lovely common facilities on the ground floor, staff is friendly. We arrived early, could check in early, very accommodating. Everything is great, but the budget room was tiny, could barely open our suitcases

A really exceptional and wonderful location - the only problem: entering only with code and code was not delivered by *******. This ment calling and as the management dd not speak English... Apart from that: 5 stars!

Gorgeous house, beautiful decor, comfortable rooms and extremely clean. Welcome by a very nice lady and we were able to leave out bags there before the room was ready Centrally located. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Bordeaux. Highly recommend
