InterContinental Hotels BOSTON by IHG

As a casual Black Diamond member, I rarely leave negative reviews for hotels, but the InterContinental Boston has shattered my expectations. It simply doesn't meet the standards of a five-star hotel. I've never stayed at such a terrible InterContinental. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel if you have other options. After a long journey, I checked in at 9:30 PM, hoping to quickly shower and go to sleep. However, there were no bathrobes or slippers in the room. I assumed the hotel had forgotten to provide them, so I called to inquire. They said the hotel had run out of slippers and there had been some problems with delivery the previous day, so they hadn't been delivered. They offered no apology, which I tolerated. The next afternoon at 4:00 PM, I returned to the hotel after finishing my errands, and still no bathrobes or slippers. I called again, and the bathrobes finally arrived 25 minutes later (the service was appalling!). Still no slippers. I was getting angry and went to the front desk to complain. They again gave me the same perfunctory explanation, saying there had been some problems with the delivery and they hadn't arrived yet, without any apology. I angrily demanded that they resolve the issue, and a customer manager came out who said that the delivery was beyond their control and that I shouldn't keep asking them for help. I was baffled. It was clearly the hotel's responsibility, yet they were blaming me for making demands! Having traveled abroad for so many years, I could genuinely sense the indifference, annoyance, and discrimination towards Chinese guests emanating from her language, and her complete disregard for their feelings. Choosing such a hotel was my mistake, but I will never do it again! I also want to warn other friends in China to choose carefully.
