We stayed here in late February for 3 nights. We took a junior suite in the Angel Inn’s Oakbank annex. Check in, meals and the bar were all based in the main Angel Inn Hotel, about 100 yards from the annex, which gave us a greater sense of privacy. There was plenty of car parking space across the two sites, but it is rather tight to manoeuvre into. The junior suites are on the second floor of the annex, which itself is a short climb from the hotel. As a result, they’re probably not for the infirm. However, if you can make the climb, the rooms are well worth the effort. Ours had a very large, spacious bedroom with a huge kingsize bed, a well appointed bathroom with bath and separate shower, and a separate sitting room with a second tv and sofa/bed. It had all of the facilities we could want and was toasty warm from our arrival. The view from the windows was fabulous with a bird’s eye view of the town and panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Breakfast was included in our stay and this was excellent, served in the main hotel’s restaurant. We also got vouchers for a few free drinks in the bar. The staff were excellent, very friendly and always helpful. The site is situated about halfway up the main street in Bowness, so it’s very central for all the local restaurants and shops. Highly recommended

Such a lovely place in a great location. The staff were fantastic and the breakfast in the hotel was excellent. Try the merlot in the bar. One of the best red wines that I have had. Really good value and deserving of 5 stars
