Bowness Bay Suites

Is this a racist hotel? Due to some schedule problems, I could not arrive at the hotel very early, but I drove as fast as possible on the way from Edinburgh. Most importantly, I called the hotel twice in advance, explaining that I would arrive at 11:30 to check in, and the hotel said that he would wait for my arrival. However, when I arrived at 11:30, the landlord came out and scolded us and told us that the reservation had been canceled, and his attitude was very, very bad. There were two middle-aged men in total, their expressions were very fierce, and they treated us with a very bad attitude after the trip. As a young girl, it was difficult not to be afraid when facing such a scene in a foreign country. As the hotel did not inform us of the cancellation in advance, and only on short notice after we arrived, where the humanitarian was, it was hard not to suspect that they were racist towards us. The last-minute cancellation left me with nowhere to go for a night in Windermere, and I really don't recommend booking this hotel unless you want a scary, racist experience on your trip.

Absolutely brilliant from the moment we arrived! Very welcoming with a homely relaxed feeling. The room was very spacious and very clean. The bed had lovely clean crisp bedding and we slept so well. The view over the lake was lovely and location was perfect for us. Already planning to stay again next year.

The room was very spacious with a sitting area. The pressure in the bath was brilliant. The bed very comfy. It us placed very central not far from the lake or the shops and the restaurants.

All information pre arrival was spot on. We dropped our bags and Harold drove with me to the car park. He shared useful info on the 3 min walk back. The room was spacious, lovely and clean with teas, coffees and a small fridge for use. The view was gorgeous and although in a prime location it was lovely and peaceful. With minimum noise from the nearby drinking houses. We took a short walk to the marina and many eating establishments. Our hosts were truly friendly and courteous and we will definitely stay again when we are next in Bowness. Thank you x

We stayed at the Bowness Bay Suites, for 3 nights 22nd-25th of April for our wedding anniversary. Booked direct with Howard, he was so friendly & helpful. On arrival we were greeted by both Howard & Martin. Promptly checked in by Howard & shown to our room by Martin. The suite (The Buttermere) was beautiful & had every thing we needed, including a small fridge with fresh milk in it. The Juliet balcony with lake view, was ideal for sitting with a glass of wine. Fabulous location in the heart of Bowness. Great for walking. Plenty of bars & restaurants, on the door step. We had an amazing stay & will definitely be back.
