Seaside Hotel

I didn’t enjoy my stay at all , from the moment I entered that reception , there was this lady who barely spoke English. The nasty smell of dirty carpet and all around the entrance gave us the impression of a place in ruins . There was even a certain smell of smoke in the air . It was already a hot day and there was not air conditioning at all. She showed us the lift which was very narrow and uncomfortable to get it . Only room for 2 people and with limited luggage . The room she offered us was room 47 . On 4th floor . The bathroom allocated was a share communal toilet. Everything seems to be falling apart. Once we entered the room . Only one window no curtain to block the sunlight or viewers from the outside. The carpet was smelly and dirty . The mattress was also smelly and it had bed bugs because I couldn’t sleep the entire night. We have been stung on several parts on my skin. If we stayed in the room it was because we were so tired after a long day at the beach during the brighton pride celebrations. The worst was the toilet and shower facilities. Very narrow to go inside toilet. Some tiles were coming off the walls . Not hygienic at all . Inside the room , no tv , no ventilation or fan , no even a tea or coffee . WiFi signal poor. We accidentally left one our electrical device a portable fan by the side of the bed . And they said the cleaning company they have in that hotel didn’t report anything left behind. We reassured the receptionist that we were very careful to pack our stuff but the fan remained there because by the size of the mattress in that room we could not even walk properly. I’m very sure the cleaner found our portable fan but they kept it away . I spoke to the receptionist lady again this morning and she insisted that it is up to the guests to make sure they don’t leave anything behind because they are not responsible for any missing items. For me it is no a surprise why this hotel has very bad reputation and I believe this hotel should not be advertised in any decent accommodation website. I feel so much disappointed at the way the receptionist answered the phone and nastily and rudely hang up the phone on me. I will never forget this place but at the same I will do all I can to stop anyone of my friends or family to choose this place to stay. The management of this place should be aware of this . I’m attaching some pictures taken of the room and toilet too. The pictures shown on the app is not what the cruel reality reflects. Trip.com should be also aware of this. As innocent customers like would end up paying for a service they don’t deserve. I paid for one night £156 which I believe it was not worth at all . I demand for compensation after this ordeal and bad experience my partner and I had at this horrendous place that should not be called hotel .

The room was okay as it had a bed and ensuite however it wasn’t clean enough as there was dust all over the floor and radiator the bath tub was stained. The door to the en-suite didn’t close. However saying that is was easy to check in and out was in a great location. Bed could have had extra pillows.

Great location, just confused what was on the carpet. beds were comfy and clean just the rest of the room and bathroom were not. there was also a gap between the room door and the floor so we has to cover it ourselves with our bags. friendly staff. would bring crocs or slides if we were to return.

“Shabby” is an understatement, though from reading other reviews from a year or more ago I think they have done the bare minimum refurb in the past year or so (replaced carpets/bedding). Some of the “highlights”: - Bathroom door too big and does not close - Gaffa tape along damaged table - Kettle but no cups - Window wouldn’t close properly and it gets VERY noisy in the area on a weekend - Slamming door outside our room all night, as we were next to the communal bathroom - Steps to get to and from bathroom, which were awkwardly sized and tricky to use - The hallways are very musty-smelling And for all of this, we paid £134!

When Arriving at the hotel we were informed that it was policy no children under the age of 18 were allowed to stay at the property, but on this occasion due to my son being 16 it was an exception. When first booking the room on trip the room looked fairly suitable, looked like the bathroom had been refurbished and looked quite comfortable. After checking in and approaching the room, the room was nothing like it was stated on the pictures. There was a kettle in the room, but no mugs, no tea/coffee or Sugar. The bathroom had a lot of issues, no use of a shower because the shower Clip had fallen off. There was no plug to put in the bath. The mirror wasn't cleaned, the only good thing about the bathroom was the toilet was clean. The bed was standard, only given one pillow each but did request for another two pillows as was given them. The whole hotel itself, there was no amenities, like breakfast being served or somewhere to lounge like a pub like setting. Overall the hotel looks like it is going through a refurbishment. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was improved massively.

This place is disgusting cleaning is rubbish as can be seen on the pictures window not closing blinder not working aa well , the communal toilets is nothing like we see on the pictures in the app. The room not even have a mirror so you can do you make-up etc for £75 and what they show on the app i did expect much better. This can't be called an hotel is worse than a homeless shelter house . Should be taken from trip.com because is damaged your reputation

The hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment. The overall condition feels worn and poorly maintained, which made the stay disappointing from the start. The most serious issue was the lack of hot water, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. This made basic things like showering very uncomfortable and significantly impacted the experience. Given the condition of the facilities and this major inconvenience, I wouldn’t consider staying here again unless significant improvements are made.

When I arrived at the hotel I could not check in as code did not work on the door, I tried to call hotel and no reply. I returned home on the train on the same day, but still got charged for the room. As a female solo travelling it was very scary and intimidating being stranded in a place I didn't know. Will never book to stay there again. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Extremely cluttered reception dark and dingy, carpets dirty. Banister on the forth floor stabilised by a flimsy metal slat. Communal bathroom tiny. No plug. A bath the half the size of a regular small one literally a large sink. The signs showing you to your room splatterd with white paint. Got to bedroom finally to find it’s been white washed (badly) headboard stained and broken no lightshade on celling light just a bulb. Skirting dirty. Windows so dirty you honestly couldn’t see out of them handle on wardrobe missing and only 1 hanger inside. From had a plain white table and a small kettle no cup or glasses given and also no source of water to even fill it up even if you did want to drink straight from the kettle. All doors creak the first door leading into our room extremely heavy making it slam shut creating a lot of noise. Thin walls could hear the couple on the next room taking.
